You Get Injured in Sport.
If I made a 1D preference book, would you read it? Also, would you want me to include Zayn?
(Relevant bc just happened to me and my friend.)
Please read the A/N at the end.
Calum: The worst part about playing Netball, was that it was outside. Maybe it wasn't as bad in the summer, you just got a little more sweaty and hot if anything, but playing netball in the winter was another thing. The short dresses did little to cover you up and keep you warm, and trying to run up and down the court as it was pouring down with rain was no doubt a dangerous thing to do, so an injury was always bound to happen. Unfortunately it just happened to be you. It was the first game Calum had been able to see since the last season, and of course you wanted to impress him by playing your best. Being Centre, you did the most running, and usually you were careful when it was raining, however, this time things did into so well. As you ran forward to try and intercept the pass, you tripped in a puddle and went flying. As a natural instinct, you stuck your hands out in front of you to break your fall, but you landed much harder than you would have expected, causing your wrist to crush. You landed on the ground in agony, clutching onto your hand as you cried out in pain. The team captain was quick to stop the play and seconds later your team mates were crowding around you. Your coach made her way through the crowd of girls followed by a panicked Calum who was quick to kneel by your side. The girls were moved aside as one of the parents ran to call first aid over. You were shivering from the coldness and Calum must have notice as he pulled his jacket off himself and wrapped it around you, not caring that he would catch a cold himself. Carefully, he supported you as he helped you stand up, wrapping his arm around your waist as he helped you move off court. He walked you under the shelter by the bench and sat beside you as someone came and checked out your wrist. You were yet to stop crying and once realising that you could barely move your fingers, you began to cry even harder. "Shh, it's ok. We'll get you to the hospital, alright? I'm right here." Calum promised you, his words soothing you as he made sure to keep your warm.
I'd break my wrist if it would mean Calum Hood would look after me. #sorrynotsorry.
Ashton: I've always been a runner from as little as I can remember. It soothes me, I guess. When things get too much for me, there's nothing better than going for a run to clear my mind, that and the cold air hitting against my skin. It wasn't until I was a little more older that I started taking the sport up competitively. I guess I just never really thought about it until a scout came and approached me with interest. Needless to say, I've been competing in running events ever since, even to the point of representing my state. I was entered in a cross country event, competing against some of the top runners in the country and to say I was nervous was an understatement. Ashton had come to see me which only added to my nerves as I didn't want to disappoint him. But before I knew it, the race had begun and we all set off along the marked track. I managed to maintain my pace throughout the race and was surprised with how well I was doing. Part of the course was marked through a small reserve which had a path cleared, although it still had twigs and rocks along it. No one saw it as much of an obstacle , more of an advantage as it was slightly downhill. As I went to overtake a girl running ahead of me, I tripped over a rock and tumbled down a few metres, banging my head harshly in the process. I ignored the scrapes and cuts on my legs and tried to sit myself up, though it seemed I had hit my head much harder than I realised. Several girls ran past me, all quickly turning to look at me before continuing the race and leaving me helpless. I knew I probably had concussion and that I shouldn't try and run, but everyone else seemed to ignore me leaving me without any option but to get help. A few minutes later when the final group of girls ran past, one of the girls stopped running and made her way over to me, worry clear in her expression. She bent down beside me and asked me what had happened though I was too confused to answer her clearly. Before I could even try to stop her, she took off again and I had never felt more deserted until I saw a car driving in my direction. It stopped at the end of the road and I was so relieved to see Ashton running over towards me, a paramedic following him. They came over to my side and Ashton quickly pulled me into his arms as the medic checked me over, squeezing me tightly and telling me how worried he was when he heard I had fallen down.
Important A/N at the end.
Luke: You had been playing basketball most of your life, always playing with your older brothers when you were little. All the years of playing made you very good at the game and having seen you before, Luke was excited to come and watch you play. You weren't one of the tallest in the team, therefore you were a point guard rather than a post position. You were generally the ball handerler, the one to bring the ball to the top of the key and set up plays and the one to drive to the basket or go for a layup. Cautious that Luke was watching, you were playing better than you had done before, being the one to turn the ball over and make great shots. It was near the end of the first half and the scoreboard was pretty close as it had been majority of the game. You called the play and your team mates ran to their position, your defensive player being screened for you to dribble to the basket to shoot. You picked up the ball and took your two steps and forced a shot up, however, as you went to shoot, a player from the other team knocked you downwards causing you to crash onto the ground. Instantly you felt a intense pain shooting up your leg and you leaned upwards crying in pain to see your leg in an unusual position. The umpires instantly called a foul and a timeout, your coach and your boyfriend running on court towards you. They kneeled down in front on you and your coach took one look at your leg before muttering that it was dislocated to Luke. You saw his cheek flush pale and his eyes examine you, before he scooted to your side and held you against him, letting you sob into his chest. Everyone waited until the ambulance arrived before they tried moving you which only added to your pain. You held tightly onto Luke's hand as they wheeled you into the ambulance and gave you some medicine to inhale. The whole journey to the hospital, Luke was right beside you, calming you down every second until the pain started to subside.
I woke my cat up and now she's angry at me lel.
Michael: "What did you do to yourself?" Michael asked the moment he stepped into my hospital room, his eyes full of concern. "I broke my leg." I slurred on my words, laughing at them too. He looked slightly puzzled but then turned to my mum who was beside me, explaining how I was slightly loopy from the medication. He shook his head in amusement and walked over to my unoccupied side. "How are you feeling?" He asked me, amusement in his voice. "Better than you." I replied childishly, falling back against the bed and waving my stick of medication in front of my face. My mother quietly excused herself to go and sort out some paperwork, leaving Michael to watch over me and make sure I didn't do anything stupid. He took hold of my hand and soothingly rubbed his thumb over my knuckles to keep me calm, looking down at me with admiration. "How'd you break your leg, babe?" Michael asked in uncertainty, hoping to get a somewhat serious answer from me. "I broke my leg?" I asked, feeling my eyes start to tear up as I looked at him. "Hey, shh, don't cry." He panicked for a moment before chuckling at me. "Were you playing football(soccer)?" He questioned as he wiped a tear off my cheek. I nodded slowly in reply, feeling a little confused as to what we were talking about. "I'm tired." I told him, curling up under the sheets being as careful as I could with my casted leg. "I know. Get some sleep, babe. You need your rest." He spoke in admiration, running his hand through my hair before tucking the sheets around me. "Only you." He muttered to himself with a laugh as he sat down next to me who was already falling asleep.

These are so bad, I'm sorry. 😂
It was more of a filler chapter because I wanted the thing for the fan book but I didn't want just an A/N chapter, y'know?
Also, sorry if you didn't understand the basketball one. 😂 It can sort of be like a new language if you don't play it.
My concert is like a week away!
Again, thank you for all the comments on why you love the boys and the thank you messages e.t.c, but one last thing.
COMMENT ON THIS CHAPTER (not your fave one),
Could you please tell me what your favourite preference of mine out of all the ones I've written was and why and also write your twitter username at the end please.
I will be choosing around 50 or so winners (depending on how many entires) to write their twitter username in the book I will give to the boys for them to hopefully follow.
I will also go back and chose a few from the entries of why you love the boys and I'll DM whoever commented the sweetest or most deep one. ❤️
Hope you're all safe and happy. I'm trying to be but my life feels like a bit of a mess right now.
I love you.
Always.- HakunaHemmings x
