Kabuto
I heard an explosion followed by a string of curses which probably meant Rin was training. Sai followed slightly behind Orochimaru and we walked to the main training area. It was dim until a streak of lightning flew across the room and for a brief moment, when their swords clashed, the siblings were visible.
“Pick it up Rin, your footing was off!” Sasuke shouted seconds before he disappeared. Rin stood still, her eyes closed as she listened for anything, something that we probably wouldn’t hear. She shifted her foot slightly and made a sharp turn blocking Sasuke’s Katana with hers.
“Rin, Sasuke” Orochimaru interrupted gaining their attention. Both had their sharingan activated but as always Rin’s seemed to blaze like fire while Sasuke’s seems colder and more severe.
“You’re late” Sasuke started as he stood straight.
“You were supposed to teach me a new jutsu this afternoon. So we started training without you.” I noticed Rin sigh as she spun her Katana in her hand before sliding it through her belt and pushing it behind her.
“It was more so he could blow off steam and make sure I was okay.”
“Make sure you were okay?” I asked more interested in that than Sasuke’s anger issues. She nodded as her Sharingan faded.
“I’ll need a check-up when you’ve got the time” Her eyes flickered behind me to Sai.
“And I’ll explain more in depth then.” She finished closing the subject before turning around.
“Come now Princess, where are your manners?”
“Gone with my clan” She replied shortly. A cross look came to Orochimaru’s eyes and he raised his hand in a single hand sign. Rin flinched and her hand flew to her neck. It took a moment but she turned to face us.
“Alright fine, who’s the new guy?” She asked as he lowered his hand. Sai stepped forward then with that fake smile.
“I am Sai from the hidden leaf.” Her eyes flickered as she glanced at me then to Orochimaru.
“Sai?” She questioned and he nodded. I noticed her hand twitch slightly as it moved to the hilt of her Katana.
“And you are Rin the Princess of the Uchiha Clan.” She rolled her eyes as she allowed her hand to slip to her side but she remained tense and on guard as usual, behind her Sasuke remained tense and ready to defend his sister if need be from the newcomer.
“Danzo has told me much about you, even that you objected his offer to join root.” She smirked slightly.
“Yeah well torture isn’t exactly the best way to try to get someone, especially an Uchiha on your team. If I wanted to watch the leaf crumble I’d rather be part of an organization that has real shinobi” She replied smoothly.
“You started a relationship with your sensei and let your family die. Now what are left of your clan are traitors and criminals. What do you know about real shinobi?” I looked away the second her eyes flashed red. Rin had a habit of extending her genjutsu to anyone around her. I took a second before I looked back but her eyes were focused on Sai. I could see him trembling and a second later he dropped to his knees.
“Rin!” But she ignored me. I would have stopped her myself until Sasuke was behind her and put a hand on her shoulder.
“Rin, enough” He said firmly and she sighed but her eyes faded to black as she stood straight. Sasuke glanced to Sai who was still sitting on the floor, panting.
“Talk to my sister like that again and I’ll skin you alive.” He warned before glancing to me.
“She needs a check-up, take her in now” I nodded and motioned for Rin to follow. She sighed and walked past me ignoring Sai along the way. I paused a second as I looked down at him.
“So that’s the Uchiha Princess?”
“And she’ll kill you the second she has the chance” I warned before walking off. I caught up to Rin easily and she glanced at me before we continued walking.
“He’s my target isn’t he?” She asked suddenly and I nodded.
“I think so.” She nodded then.
“It was the way he smiled and the fact he’s root and works for Danzo. Who wouldn’t want him dead?”
“Agreed, I’m sure you feel the same; he can’t be trusted” She nodded again.
“Don’t worry about it; he won’t be around much longer. I can do that much.” She replied firmly.
“So did you really need a check-up?” She sighed and shrugged.
“Sasuke thinks it’s a good idea but I’m pretty sure the surgery was a success. I just, I can feel it. I know that I’m cured but at the same time there’s no other explanation for passing out during training.”
“Well you didn’t give your body much time to heal” I pointed out and she sighed.
“It’s not my fault Deidara and Sasori went after Gaara” She argued.
“You knew about that?” she nodded.
“Did you know Sasori was dead?” She smirked slightly.
“Yeah, forgot to mention that. Sorry” I rolled my eyes as she turned to another hallway.
“You nearly got me killed.” She shrugged.
“I nearly get a lot of people killed; it’s one of the hazards of being around me. Someone always wants the Uchiha Princess.” She replied simply.
“Most aren’t stupid enough to try now” I pointed out and she smiled slightly.
“Well aren’t you smooth?” She teased and I rolled my eyes as I turned down the hall.
“Where are you going?”
“My room, you said you were fine and I’ll tell Sasuke I found no reason to think otherwise”
“You believe me, that the sand cured my illness?” She asked and I shrugged.
“Sasuke tends to worry a little more than he likes about you and most of the time he doesn’t need to besides you have some work to do.” She nodded then and her hand rested on the hilt of her Katana.
“Thanks, maybe I’ll even split the bounty money with you” I smirked slightly watching as she walked off. I hated Rin, I’ve wanted to kill her since the day I met her but Orochimaru needed her to keep Sasuke in line so she was off limits. The only good part about having her around was in moments like these, when I wanted someone dead.
