Chapter 14: The Uchiha Prodigy [Shippuden]

**Authors Note: I am so sorry this took forever and this one isn't that great. Haha I never realized how much talking they do before the fight starts, I'm in the middle of writing the next one, like actually in the middle of it. Kakashi

Rin's chidori sparked off her blade and seemed to create the shape of a lightning bolt as she darted around the logs and sliced through the explosives that headed towards Naruto causing them to go off. Naruto pulled himself back up onto a log as another explosive flew past him and straight for me. I prepared myself for it when I felt a hand catch the back of my vest. I was pulled off the log just as the explosion hit.

"Kakashi sensei!" I heard Naruto shout. I freefell for a moment until a pair of hands caught my wrists. I looked up at Rin; her eyes blazing and Katana in her belt while her hands securely held my wrists as she swung under the log and used the momentum to toss me to another. I landed on it and turned back as she arched into a backflip and landed beside me.

"You have to teach me that." She laughed unexpectedly and gave me a smirk.

"Sad day when the student becomes the teacher huh?" She teased and I rolled my eyes.

"I still have some new tricks up my sleeve," I replied.

"I look forward to seeing them" She said with a wink before moving forward. I chuckled slightly to myself as I followed; so this is why I missed her.

"We need to make this quick. I hate to admit it but Deidara and I have a lot in common." I glanced at her.

"How?"

"If what we're doing isn't working then we'll take up to a whole other level" I nodded slightly looking back to Naruto just in time to watch him take off again.

"Naruto wait!" I shouted but he kept moving. I heard Rin sigh beside me before she jumped after him and I followed close behind; I was getting farther and farther away from Lady Chiyo and Sakura and soon I'd be out of the range for the radios which would cut off contact to Gai's team. I had to hurry.  

"Step it up Kakashi Sensei, Rin. Let's go we're going to lose him!"  He shouted back at us.

"It's okay Naruto, remember you're the whole reason why he's here, he won't get so far as to lose us."

"Fine just tell me how to take this guy down already, we're running out of time." He demanded.

"I've got a couple strategies in mind but I need time to work out all the angles" I replied trying to keep my voice calm. I glanced at Rin whose eyes remained focused up at Deidara, I could see the gears in her head turning but for once had no idea what she could be thinking.

"Hey you jerk, get back here!" I turned back just as Naruto jumped farther ahead.

"Naruto wait!" But he ignored me; nothing could get through to him now. I had only one option left at this point.

"I've got it" I glanced at Rin.

"What?"

"You get your big move or whatever you've got going through your head ready and I'll keep an eye on the two blonde idiots." She replied pulling her Katana off her back.

"You plan to catch up to them?" I asked a little skeptical to which she gave me a blank look.

"I'm up to par with Itachi's speed and nearly faster. I think I can handle this." I wanted to say something more but she was already gone. I sighed; at least she was giving me time.
