"YOU WHAT?!"

"i texted him for homework" you reply as sunghoon is still staring in utter disbelief

"you haven't spoken to him or texted him in 2 years" he says

"show me the texts."

it's been about an hour since you and sunghoon ordered food and talked about you texting niki.

"foods here" sunghoon says before walking towards the door after checking your phone

"thank god i'm starving" you reply

1 new message - niki🧃

you and sunghoon both look at each other after his phone goes off and a familiar name appears on the lockscreen.

"open it" you say

"nosy" sunghoon replies with a light chuckle

"oh... it's about you"

about me? niki texted him about me? is it about me texting him earlier? is it something else? is sunghoon just saying that as a joke?

question after question flooded your mind.

"what did he say show me" you respond almost immediately

"hang on hang on" he playfully pats your shoulder while he unlocks his phone

it's been so long since we talked
i wanted to keep texting but i just didn't know what to say

that's exactly how i felt. sunghoon interrupts
your thoughts

"now do you believe me when i say he wants to talk to you again?" sunghoon says after showing you the messages

"whatever let's just eat"

over the next few days yeji had been keeping you updated on the guy she was talking to. yang seowon, older brother of yang jungwon. you knew who he was because jungwon is friends with niki and sunghoon and you had known his brother from being around them. seowon is a year older than you (and jungwon), him and yeji are the same age.

seowon has an early birthday though, so he's a junior while the rest of you are sophomores.

you didn't know seowon very well at all. you had only seen him around mainly because of sunghoon. he seemed like a good enough guy though so you encouraged yeji to go for it.

a known fact amongst anyone who knew you well, you were no stranger to skipping classes. in fact it's become somewhat of a bad habit over the last few years. yeji however, had never skipped a class in her life... until seowon happened.

it was the weekend and you were on the phone with yeji. you practically froze when she oh so casually mentioned skipping "a few" periods on friday with seowon.

you were shocked to say the least.

on another note, niki had also asked you for homework a few days ago and you couldn't stop thinking about what he said to sunghoon.

the whole texting-for-answers situation has started to feel more normal to you guys now but you still haven't talked other than that.

niki had actually wanted to get your attention in class a few times but you never noticed. he wanted to talk to you about more than just homework answers but he could never actually do it.

he was laying in bed after getting home from school. niki stared blankly at his phone debating if he should text you or not. his mind went back and forth between just do it and don't be annoying. a good 10 minutes had passed of just him fighting his own brain over whether or not he was gonna pick up his phone and talk to you.

he sat up to text someone.

niki
should i just text her

he sent it and waited for a response

and waited...

...and waited

nothing.

ugh sunoo never answers

he falls back onto the bed once again laying down struggling to decide.

after another few minutes of considering possible outcomes, niki picked his phone up again.

note: sorry for such a long wait for this one, and a bit of a short chapter too. i've been a little busy lately but i'm planning on getting some more chapters done in advance so i can post them faster for you. 5 is already about halfway written and will hopefully be out in a few days. thanks for reading so far and don't forget to vote if you like the story ! :)
