the days were passing quicker than anyone expected. after that day in the library with niki, the next week and a half went by rather quickly with a lot of the same sort of things going on. one thing you weren't anticipating was how... present this seojun kid has been.

while you have been spending more time with niki and seeing each other more every day, the amount of seojun that you see has also increased along with it. you didn't have any particular issue with him to begin with, but you would be lying if you said it wasn't getting a bit annoying seeing him everywhere you go. you were nice to him because he never gave you a reason not to be but you also consistently tried to make it clear you were not interested after multiple people around him joked about how he had taken a liking to you.

if this pattern continued, you might actually start believing in guardian angels because somehow every time seojun left you with a heightened temper, riki showed up right after to fix your mood. it was actually almost comical, the timing of it all, seeing as you had never even seen them bump into each other. they always managed to just barely miss each other, even walking right past, while they rotated talking to you during school.

niki had mostly no idea who seojun was. he knew he was friends with some guys on the basketball team but that was really it. he had never talked to him or seen him around much. seojun on the other hand, knew exactly who he was. or at least enough to notice his friends around school and be well aware of every time they brushed shoulders in the halls. he also knew enough to know about you and niki, but not enough to know what exactly you two were. granted, not even you fully knew. seojun had come to his own conclusion that riki liked you. he only couldn't tell how you felt, so he figured it wouldn't hurt to keep trying...

"what a bad influence you are" jay says teasingly

"for the record i've been telling him not to skip he just doesn't listen" you reply

"jays being dramatic this is only like the third time he'll be fine" jake says without taking his eyes off his phone while walking beside the three of you (including niki) in the hallway

"just this time then i'm done until next semester" niki says

"you are not skipping next semester you're crazy" you immediately snapped back

"we'll see about that" he says and smiles at you before saying he'll meet you at the library after he drops jay and jake off at their classes

you go to your locker to meet up with yeji and do the same. you walk to her class and quickly after make your way to wait in the entrance of the library before the bell rings since this period they don't let anyone in after.

god where is he ?
almost like he heard your thoughts, niki came running from a different path than usual right as the bell rang. he looked like he rushed there and could barely get a word out as he caught his breath.

"my teacher," he manages to get out in between breaths

"huh ?" you ask waiting for him to finish his sentence

he regulates his breathing and stands up straight before speaking.

"my teacher for this period was in the hall i have to go down to get here so i ran the other way and i had to loop the back of the building before the bell" he says all in one breath

"okay maybe breathe. let's go sit down" you looked at him with concern and walked over to your spot with him following close behind

the period went as they usually do. fast but slow. nerve wracking but calming. close yet still not close enough. as usual, when you were together nothing made sense but everything just worked.
