you laid there for a bit unsure of what to do about the reply. you wanted to text again, forget about going to sleep, you wanted to ask him what was wrong and if he was okay or if it was just you.

but he asked for space, so space is what you gave him.

the following 3 days had been quite discouraging. you sent a goodnight every day but nothing else. and unlike the first time you did it, he wasn't replying anymore. you received nothing but a "niki🕺🏻 reacted 🌙 to "goodnight"" you still didn't know why you weren't talking or when the space was over. all you knew was that among other things, riki was one of your best friends. and you didn't have him right now.

every day of not being able to have your usual relationship with him was lonely. you felt lonely. even when sunghoon came over you weren't able to feel normal emotions without feeling guilty for trying to be happy without him. he was all you were thinking about. he was all you wanted.

and so, on december 23, you decided to let him know you hadn't given up on him.

you went to sleep that night confident that you'd be able to fix it all tomorrow, and that you'd be able to get him back tomorrow.

you spent the whole morning hyping yourself up getting ready to go see him. you were feeling a mixture of excitement and nerves. not the usual butterfly-like nerves. these were recent space-induced-nerves. you also had a bit of a headache and cough bothering you but it was all gonna be okay after you saw him.

after making sure you were all ready to go by early afternoon, you decided to let him know you were going now.

no response probably meant he was just waiting for you to show up.

9 minutes later, after a walk that normally takes you 15, you had arrived at riki's with his gift in hand. the nerves and excitement were getting to you all at once now. all that was left was to let him know you were there. you knocked once, you didn't hear anything inside. you knocked again to no avail. the nerves were now overpowering the excitement. you figured you'd text him. maybe he didn't hear.
