on now christmas day, you came home to your mother. you normally celebrated on christmas eve which you didn't even realize you weren't home for until this morning.

"hey y/nie merry christmas !" your mom said hugging you after you came in

"it's a shame we couldn't be together yesterday but we can move our celebrations to today ! how was it at yejis' ?"

"merry christmas mom. it was good, i'm sorry too but with the rain and everything it just got late and they said it was better for me to stay." you said apologetically, feeling bad about both missing the day and lying about where you stayed

"don't worry it'll be okay. oh and sunghoon called last night and said you weren't answering your phone. i told him he could come over today." your mom replied

you hadn't exactly been on your phone much ever since you got to niki's aside from calling your mom. you missed sunghoon and you did want to see him but you weren't expecting it in the middle of everything with riki. you weren't sure if you were going to be able to act okay for now until you could explain.

"okay mom, thank you" you said before going to your room to change

sitting on your bed, you stared at the bag you had left across the room. the bag riki left you.

you stood up to take something out before sitting back down.

"i'm sorry you got sick because of me... wanted to help... give you something soon.." you quietly mumbled reading over the note again

sorry for getting me sick but couldn't explain why he can't talk to me. that's why i got sick. i don't need a christmas gift i just need him...

there was a knock on your door.

"come in hoon"

you shoved the note under your pillow as he opened the door and came in to sit in the bed next to you.

"hey y/nie. what's been going on ? i haven't seen you since before the break started" he spoke more gentle than normal taking note of your strange expression

"sorry i've been sick. glad you're here though" you replied

"huh, niki was sick too, might be something going around... you're not still sick are you?" he asked moving a few inches away

you didn't even catch his question. everything after the mention of niki went unheard.

was he really sick ? is that why he didn't wanna talk ? no, that can't be it something was really wrong. but then why would he lie to his friends about being sick.. if he was why wouldn't he tell me that instead of pretending to be busy...

"y/n ?" sunghoon said for the second time, snapping you out of your dazed state with a look of concern on his face

you turned to him, opening your mouth to speak feeling a bit disoriented.

"yeah ?"

"what's up with you ? i'm getting worried" he said

"sorry i've been so out of it, must be the fever" you shrugged it off and stood up signaling him to go out to the living room with you

"whatever you say, i guess"

a good hour had passed of you and sunghoon just sitting in the living room watching a christmas movie until your mom asked you guys to get up and help her cook. much like yeji, sunghoon had a close relationship with your family. your mom and sister both knew him well and loved having him around as he always helped around the house.
