"i feel dumb for wondering but— do you think he might actually like me ?" you asked with genuine confusion clear in your tone

sunghoon wanted so badly to tell you the truth. that he knew how niki felt and that you weren't dumb. he didn't want to betray his friends trust but he also didn't want to lie right to you or mislead you. he played it safe.

"i think that's something you're gonna have to find out from him. but if there's one thing i can tell you about niki, his feelings tend to be much clearer than you think. i guess you just have to spend more time with him and figure it out."

after what sunghoon had said you felt like he might actually be right and you just weren't paying enough attention. this was something you needed to find out on your own, not ask someone else to find out for you.

you talked mostly like normal with nikis name  coming up every now and then for the rest of the period. sunghoon left you with the reminder that it's good to listen to him sometimes before he left and you stayed in that corner, waiting for someone. 

good thing he suggested spending more time with him since he was coming your way now. you were nervous, you always were when he showed up. but it was good nerves. it was excited nerves.

he smiled wide as he walked straight towards you. he reached the bench and put his hand over yours for a brief moment as he sat down.

"hey" he said, smile still beaming

"hi" you couldn't help but do the same

"you sure you're okay with missing class ?" you asked him

"it's art. i promise, i'll live." he chuckled

"how'd you get here so fast ?" he asked

"i was already here with hoon" you replied

he mouthed an "oh" and nodded before looking around for a second.

"do you still wanna go to the library or would you rather stay here ?" he asked, taking note of how comfortable and somewhat sleepy you looked

out of a lack of attention, you said what you were thinking out loud.

"i don't care, just stay with me" you realized almost immediately after the words came out but tried not to react and just waited for him to say something

his eyes widened a bit before he chuckled again "whatever you want, y/nie" he said

he would be lying if he said it didn't catch him a little off guard, but he liked it nonetheless. you on the other hand, felt a bit embarrassed and decided to answer the question to change the topic and hopefully let him forget about whatever just happened.

"actually the library sounds comfier, if you're fine with that" you said

"sure, but come on we gotta leave before they realize this is your second period in a row in here" he said with a teasing smile as he patted your hand while he got up

"whatever" you replied sarcastically

you got your things and went out a different door than the one you both came in, leaving for the library. he brought up sunghoon as you walked in.
