Simon's POV
Salem's eyes widen after she hears a wicked laugh. To which, I turn and see Evie. She's waiting for Salem's response, but she doesn't give one.
"Oh, so now you can't speak? And, you had to bring your little protecter! I feel... So sad for you." She mocks, and makes a fake frowning face.
"Oh, piss off already." Salem reply's, and rolled her eyes.
"Well you've obviously gotten smarter! Nice response, Say-Say."
For some reason, I get extremely jealous after hearing the nickname Say-Say.
"Oh please, you're the one who chickened out after Simon came quick with his responses. Now, piss off." she responds.
"Ha! Oh wow. Your little protecter is saying nothing!"
"It's because-" I start, but am immediately cut off.
"Maybe because I don't need to be protected. Simon is free to do whatever he wants."
I blush at the statement, and frantically look around to try and focus on something.
"Whatever. I'll kiss more boys at this party than you will in your life."
"What wrong with that? I'm not getting jealous." She answers quickly.
prove her wrong and kiss her.
WHAT?! DID I SERIOUSLY JUST THINK THAT?!
Evie rolls her eyes, and leaves to go inside.
"I really hate her." Taylor scuffs.
"Yeah, pretty sure everyone does." Salem laughs.
"So Simon, do you want to explain why you looked so nervous when Salem said your name?" Taylor smiles.
"I'm- Uhh..." I stutter.
"Haha!! See, Salem? You two are totally in love with each other" she turns to look at Salem, but she's looking at me.
Salem's POV
Out of all of the people in the world, he's looking at me.
My face obviously grows more red by the second. Why did Taylor have to say that now?!
Why do I get these stupid butterflies in my stomach whenever he looks at me or talks to me?! I'm so gullible.
"Salem! Let's go inside." Simon smiles, and he brushes against my arm.
I smile at Taylor, and she laughs.
"You two are so stupid sometimes. Let's go before Simon gets left with no one." she says, and she brings me inside.
Today may be an unexpected night. But, who knows if it's going to be good or bad?
We catch up to Simon, and we can see that he's talking to someone.
"Oh! Salem! Come over here!"
He says, and I get the stupid butterflies again.
"What's up?" I ask.
"This is Wren! The one I was telling you about."
I look at Wren, and she smiles at me.
"Hello!" She says, and she takes my hand and shakes it.
"Oh! Hello." I say, smiling back at her.
"So Wren, this is Salem and I told her that you are exactly like her! You two should get to know each other." He replies, and goes to get a drink.
"Well... This is awkward." She says out loud, and I laugh.
"That's exactly what I was thinking. How old are you?"
"I'm 14. You?"
"I'm also 14. Who's class are you in?"
"Oh, I don't go to your school. I go to École Robertson."
"Isn't that the french one?" I ask, genuinely curious.
"Yeah, so when did you meet Simon?" She asks.
"Oh, I actually met him a couple of days ago. But, we've really bonded over these couple of days." I respond.
"Oh that's great! I can tell that he really enjoys your company." Wren smiles gently at me.
"Really? I was getting the feeling that he was loosing interest." I say.
"Oh, god no! He's not the type of guy to loose interest immediately. Maybe a month or two." Wren laughs.
"So, how long have you two known each other for?"
"Oh," she pauses and counts, "I'd say maybe around eight or nine years. We're neighbours, actually!"
"Wow, really? That's interesting."
Then, Simon comes back with his drink and sits down next to us.
"Back!" He smiles widely.
Taylor then comes over to me after she's done talking to her friend, and snickers.
"Salem! Can you come to the bathroom with me for a second?" She laughs silently.
Immediately, I know that she's up to no good.
"Sure." I say, and I excuse myself from the conversation.
"What's up?" I ask.
Taylor takes a few ketchup packets out of her pocket, and we walk into the bathroom.
"Hold up the toilet seat." She says.
I do, and she puts the packets under the seat.
"Looks like someone will have to clean up this mess." She says, laughing louder.
"You're so weird sometimes, Taylor." I say.
"Hey, I'm sorry about Evie. I didn't know that she'd show up." Taylor frowns at me.
"Don't worry about it. I don't really care anymore." I reply, punching her shoulder lightly.
"Thanks. Let's go back out." She smiles at me.
We open the door slowly, and peek out to make sure no one saw us.
I walk outside to face Simon and Wren, and Taylor walks into the huge wall that's blocking Simon's back.
"You idiot." I say, but Taylor is covering her mouth whilst looking at Wren and Simon.
I quickly look over to where they are sitting, and I almost drop to the floor.
They're kissing each other.
