Simon's POV

We all get out of the car, and sit on the edge of the cliff. We look up at the white painted sky, the snow drifting down and landing on our faces. Slowly, we all understand we can't speak. The view is breathtaking, the city's lights shine in the faint white tint. I lean against Salem, and she puts her head on my shoulder. Still, no one speaks a word. Silence fills the void, protecting us from all of our problems. I put my arm around Salem, but don't dare to look at her. I continue to look upwards, snow flakes hitting my body. It's so warm, yet so cold.

Eventually, Finn breaks the silence.
"Oh my god it's Christmas!" He says, wide-eyed.
"Really?" Taylor asks, looking up at him.
Salem moves her head from my shoulder, also looking at Finn.
"Oh, damn yeah it is." Riley speaks, smiling.
"Can't believe it... Jeez." I spoke.
"And after all we've been through.." Salem said, still putting her legs on the edge of the cliff.
"Funny to think it's only been a few months." Wren added, laughing.
"Oh shit! Yeah!" Riley gasped.
"Damn. Crazy shit, ain't it?" Finn smiled widely.
"Duh!" Taylor smirked.

I looked over at Taylor the same time Salem did. I shot her a knowing look and we both smiled.

"Are you two flirting?" Salem asked, about to burst of laughter.
"Wha- where'd you get that idea from!?" Taylor panicked.
"Because it's obvious you dumb shits." Riley  punched Finn in the arm.
"Piss off." Finn replied.
"Yeah, piss off!" Taylor rolled her eyes.
"Whatever." I responded, looking down at the glistening lights of the city.

"It's beautiful." Salem said, smiling.

Then, everyone seemed to notice her head on my shoulder.

"Oooo!! Seems like YOU two are flirting!" Taylor laughed.
"Are you kidding me? They've been flirting since the beginning." Wren smiled.
"Mhm." I said, not thinking about what I was saying.

"WHAT!?" Everyone yelled at us.

I looked at Salem, but she was still looking down.
"Salem?" I asked.
No response.
"She's sleeping." I said, quietly.

She was sleeping.
