Camilo quickly hugged Lorenzo, Lorenzo not knowing who Camilo was for a moment pushed him away.
"Who are you?" He'd back away for a moment.
"Oh- sorry. It's me? Camilo?" Camilo said looking up at lorenzo.
Lorenzo shook his head for a moment realizing it was Camilo, and hugged him back. "Sorry I pushed you away for a second-"
"No, I'm sorry, I assumed you already knew it was me." Camilo said quietly while hugging lornezo.
"You know, you sort of scared me, i thought you disappeared.. I havent seen you in so long" Camilo said as tears filled his eyes.
"Hey, hey, hey, dont cry, if you cry it will make me cry." Lornezo said, starting to tear up aswell, since she hadn't seen his brother in almost a year but what seemed like forever.
Lorenzo noticed the dark red stains on the sleeves of Camilo's shirt. "What is that?'
"That? Oh- uh- it's nothing." Camilo let go of Lorenzo and quickly hid his hands behind his back.
"Please show me? I promise I wont tell anyone? And I wont make a big deal out of it?" Lorenzo said quietly, with an idea of what it already was.
"Okay.." Camilo said unsure, but slowly rolling up his blood-stained sleeves to reveal recent, and old scars from knives, and broken pieces of the shattered mirrors around his room.
"Oh, Camilo, please dont do this I know I promised not to overreact but why would you-" Lorenzo would say but got interrupted
"Because, Abuela keeps saying things about me to the villagers, and telling me to look different, and everyone wants me to be anyone else, and ever since you left it's been the worst, isabela and carlos keep targetting their jokes, and pranks at me, and framing me of things didn't do, and the blame is always pinned on me. Now they are isolating me in my own room, and Abuela wants to send me away-" Camilo was overwhelmed, more tears flowed down his face, and he was breathing heavily.
"Hey, its okay, it's okay, dont panic okay? I promised i would protect you and I failed, but this time I wont fail, I won't let anyone say these things about you, or tell you what do do, okay?" Lorenzo said, holding onto one of Camilo's hands, trying to calm Camilo down.
"Promise?.." Camilo said, calming down slightly.
"I Promise." Lorenzo said, smiling.
