{Chapter 79.} Smile

The stranger pulled Camilo by the hair, making him stand up then letting go.
"I told you exactly what would happen if you tried to escape. Yet you still left? Well, you dont have the rest of your family to protect you now."

"Please- dont hurt me. I know, I messed up! I-I'm sorry for leaving. I won't try to escape this time I swear!-" Camilo's eyes quickly teared up and he closed his eyes.

"Stop crying, it wont do you any good." They said then grabbed Camilos hand, about to drag him back to the place they had kept Camilo before.

But before they could leave, Mirabel had already woken up at least Pepa, Felix, and Bruno and they all rushed outside.

Camilo heard them and looked back, relieved that he might be okay, and not have to deal with the stranger for long.

Of course the stranger had a plan, knowing this might happen. They pulled Camilo closer to them then put a knife up to his neck. "I've done this before, but here isnt as many of you.. I could easily kill him right now if any of you step closer."

A cloud appeared above Pepa's head, making it start to rain outside.

They could see Camilo starting to cry again.

"Please- let go." Camilo managed to say before his vision was blurry with tears and he could barely talk.

The stranger moved The knife closer to Camilo's neck. "Stop talking, unless you want to die now."

Camilo looked terrified, but stopped talking. If he tried talking, the blade of the knife would immediately cut him.

No one moved, except for the stranger who slowly backed away from everyone, eventually throwing the knife, distracting everyone and just. barely managing to take Camilo with them without anyone noticing.

Soon Camilo passed out again after being too overwhelmed, and even more horrified by the idea of going back, and he barely had even slept anyways which was also why.

Mirabel ran after them, eventually catching up to them.

A few hours later, once Camilo woke up, he looked around, scared but calmed down when he realized he was back in his room.

"Camilo, Mirabel told us what happened.. is it true..? What Isabela did?" A voice said from right besides him.

Camilo looked at whoever was talking, it was Pepa. "Yeah.. its true."

"I am so sorry that happened to you, I was so worried.. you don't have to worry about that person who tried to take you anymore, Mirabel managed to stop them." Pepa said.

"Its fine.. I'm used to what happens. I spent what.. almost a year in the place that person had kept me in. I'm used to all of it, it hurts a lot but I'm perfectly fine." Camilo smiled

"That shouldn't be something your used to, I'm so sorry that all happened to you. You should go back to sleep it's still very late." Pepa said then left the room.

Camilo was still paranoid, and still afraid after what had happened just a few hours ago but he managed to fall asleep.

Another few hours passed and it was already morning, Mirabel woke him up for school.

"Seriously? I still have to go?" Camilo asked, walking outside with Mirabel.

"Yep, Abuela still doesnt wsnt you to skip anymore school, apperently she thinks your dumb after being gone for almost a year. Her words not mine." Mirabel said.
