{Chapter 76.} Escape

As soon as the stranger left Camilo noticed they accidentally left the knife. Camilo carefully moved closer to it, successfully reaching it with one if his hands and carefully trying to cut the rope off of his hands.

Soon he managed to untie his hands after cutting the rope, it was hard to do though considering the rope was tight and he could barely move, Camilo carefully tried to get off of the ground, coughing blood as soon as he stood up. His entire body hurt even more. He tried to push through the pain and he walked towards to door, each step he took he had to try and stop himself from screaming in pain again. Eventually he reached the door, but for some reason.. it was unlocked..?

Camilo didn't bother figuring out why it was unlocked. He managed to open the door while keeping his balance, still losing a lot of blood.. now Camilo had no choice but to run so he wouldnt get caught.

Camilo started running, soon he heard someone following him. Every second the pain Camilo felt got even worse but he didnt care. He ran until he got outside, eventually getting to the town.

It was night but Camilo then saw Mirabel outside, she was looking for him.

Camilo tried to yell but again he felt someone grab him and try to cover his mouth.

"GET OFF OF ME!" Camilo yelled before his mouth could be covered.

Mirabel quickly heard this and ran towards Camilo and the stranger.

But before Mirabel could get the stranger away, they pulled out a knife and held it close to Camilo's neck.

"Take one more step closer and I'll kill him." They laughed, thinking that Mirabel couldnt do anything.

By now, Camilo was pale, covered in bandages, and blood. And almost barely able to talk after everything. He moved the strangers hand off of his mouth for a moment while trying to push them away. "PLEASE- STOP! LET GO OF ME!" Camilo managed to yell.

Eventually Dolores heard aswell, she ran around the Casita trying to wake everyone up and tell them about what she heard going on.

Soon everyone except Isabela and Carlos(who didn't care) had ran outside to find Camilo and Mirabel.

They found Mirabel and Camilo, and as soon as the stranger had seen the rest if the family appear, they let Camilo go and ran away.

Camilo fell onto his knees, trying to catch his breath while Mirabel rushed over to him and hugged him tightly.

"You didn't run away.. did you? Oh my god.. Camilo I'm so sorry, I didnt want this to happen again." Mirabel said

"I didn't.. I was at the school but all the classrooms were locked- and the stranger from before- I thought I was gonna die" Camilo barely could say anything.

"Well it's alright now, we can go back to the Casita. It's already night anyways.. you need to sleep.. you probably didn't get a lot of sleep while you were gone.." Mirabel let go of him, helping him stand up.

A few minutes later they got to the Casita, Camilo walked upstairs to his room, sitting on his bed just a moment later.

Mirabel walked into his room a few seconds later. "For now I'll sleep in your room just to be safe, and so you don't get hurt." She smiled.

"Are you sure?" Camilo looked at her.

"Of course! And I miss sharing a room with you anyways. Remember how we used to talk all night about what our gifts would be when we were younger?" Mirabel laughed.

Camilo smiled. "Yeah.. I remember. I'm sorry you didn't get a gift Mira, you were probably really upset."

"Yeah, I was. But I've realized that gift or no gift I am just as special as the rest of my family." She smiled again.

"Well I'm happy your not upset about that.. it was a long time ago anyways."

Camilo and Mirabel ended up talking for almost an hour before they both fell asleep.
