Present Time...

Kylie's pov

Today I'm supposed to meet Melanie to go somewhere with her and Edwin.

As I'm walking out to the liquor store where we were supposed to meet, I spot Melanie standing there waiting for me. But as I'm walking up to her, I see her blushing at her phone.

"Let me guess... You're texting Edwin" I say to Melanie.

She jumps up.

"What the hell Kylie! You freaking scared me!" she yells.

"Haha," I chuckle.

Melanie rolls her eyes. "Yeah, I was texting Edwin. Who else would it be?" Melanie says.

"Now hurry up! He's waiting for us" she says.

"Ok, but he better not be with him though," I say.
I know that you guys must be like, do you seriously hate him that much? but the truth is yes. Yes, I do.

"He's not. Let's just go already" Melanie rolls her eyes again.

I sigh in relief. Thank God.

10 minutes later...

Kylie's pov

"Hi, babe" Melanie says with pink cheeks.

I want to throw up.

"Hey, you two" Edwin says happily. He must be in a very good mood today.

"How's everything with you Kylie?" He asks.

"Everything is just fine actually. What about you?" I respond.

"Everything's good" he says.

"I'm happy to hear that"

"Anyway... What do you guys say to heading to the city for some ice cream or something?" He asks us. Ice cream does sound kinda good right now...

"We would love that!" Melanie says for the both of us.

"Are you coming with us Kylie?" Edwin asks. Oh.. that's honestly embarrassing. I thought he was talking to both of us.

Melanie gave me this look that I had to go with them.

My normal self would say "no thank you" just to piss her off. But I guess I'll be there for her.

"Sure, I'll come with you guys" I respond making Melanie sigh in relief.

"Perfect. Let's go then"

A few hours later...

"Thank you for the ice cream and everything Edwin," I say.

"No worries. It was my pleasure" he responds.

But then I see someone I didn't want to see...

Cain.

"Hello, cousin!" Cain says to Edwin.

"You've got to be fucking kidding me" I say under my breath.

What a way to ruin the mood.

"Hey, Kylie. I didn't expect to see you here" Cain says.

I was shocked to see him in the same place as us and thought it might just be a coincidence that he was there too. I'm not in the fucking mood for this.

But after looking at my cousin and Edwin, I knew that they were behind this.

"I'm sure you didn't" I reply to Cain. But after a moment of silence, Edwin speaks.

"Sorry, Kylie but I need to borrow Melanie for a second" he says.

"You're kidding right?"

This seriously has to be some kind of sick joke.

"We will be right back" Melanie says.

What the actual fuck!

Don't you dare leave me here with him!" I shout.

"You'll be fine" Melanie winks at me.

I'm going to kill her. Just wait.

"Come on, baby," Melanie says to Edwin walking away from me and Cain.

He walks towards me. And I sigh.

I give up. Fuck my life.

"Why don't you want to be alone with me?" Cain asks.

"Do you hate me that much?"

I stay silent. I don't know what to say.

"What did I do to make you hate me so much?" he asks in a sad tone.

"Are you going to pretend that you've forgotten
how you behaved towards me two years ago?" I finally respond.

Flashback...

"I swear you think so highly of yourself!" Cain shouts at me.

Who does he think he is?

"Excuse me?" I argue back.

"It's like you enjoy it when I beg you all the time" he states.

"You know, there are plenty of girls who would love me to be with them," he says.

"Then go and be with one of those girls and stop bothering me all the damn time!" I snap back at him.

"I didn't know that you felt this way," he says.

Is he kidding? I think I've made it obvious many times before.

"Don't worry, I won't bother you anymore" he says walking away before I could say something else.

End of flashback

"I can't believe you're still thinking about that. It was a long time ago" Cain says.

"I've changed now" he claims.

"And I only behaved like that because I really Liked you a lot" he says.

I'm pretty sure I've figured that out by now.

"But you never gave me a chance" he says.

"You know very well that I had a boyfriend back then. So how the hell did you respect me to give you a chance?"

"And that wasn't the only problem. You're a player, Cain. I not trying to be one of your girls that you just wanna use and then dump" I tell him.

"Look... I know I may have had a bad reputation with girls and all... but I'm not like that anymore, I promise"

"And I always felt that you were somehow different from other girls and that's why I started to like you"

I began to think... Is he telling the truth?

"I wish you could just give me a chance to prove it to you" he says.

"Just one chance, Kylie" he says.

I stay silent.

He comes closer to me...

"All I'm asking is for one chance" he whispers.

"Please?" he asks.

And after a few moments, he smashes his lips against mine.

I don't know what exactly came over me at that moment, but I decided to finally give him a chance
because I thought he might not be that bad after all.

But oh boy, little did I know my life was going to be turned upside down...

And that was all because of HIM!
