Jessie frowned. It was already her bedtime but her dad still wasn't here. She knew that even though it was Christmas Eve, she knew that Aunt Jodi wouldn't let her stay up past her bedtime.
"Jessie, time for bed, honey." And speak of the devil. Jessie looked up at Jodi with her sad puppy dog eyes.
"Can I please stay up Aunt Jodi? Just until Daddy gets here? Please?"
"I don't think so little miss. Come on, I'll tuck you in." Jessie reluctantly stood up and followed Jodi into her bedroom. She climbed into her bed and Jodi pulled her pink comforter up around her. "Don't worry Jessie. Your dad and uncle will be here in the morning. I'm sure of it." Jodi said and Jessie nodded sadly. She rolled into her side, away from Jodi. She heard footsteps leaving the room and her door close most of the way. She sniffles and a single tear ran down her cheek as she closed her eyes and went to sleep.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~timeskip to the next morning~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Jessie woke up to someone gently shaking her. She opened her eyes and saw...
"Daddy?" She asked and Dean smiled at her.
"Hey there, Pie Thief. You miss me?" He asked with one eyebrow raised as he sat on the edge of her bed. Jessie just grinned, sat up and wrapped her small arms around him.
"I thought... I thought that you were gonna miss Christmas." She said into his shirt as he wrapped his arms around her.
"Hey, I promised that I would be here, didn't I? And here I am." He hugged her tight. "Now get dressed. You don't get your presents until you get dressed." He stood up and she climbed out of bed.
"Presents? You mean I get more than one? Really?" Jessie was surprised. Normally she got one present from her dad. If she got any at all. She didn't usually want presents. Seeing her dad was more than enough for her. But she understood why he had to leave all of the time. He had an important job that he had to do and it wad too dangerous for her to come with them. As Dean walked out of her room, she got up out of bed and threw on a pair of jeans and her favorite pink sweater. She pulled on her small black converse and ran out of her room and into the kitchen where Sam, Dean and Jodi were having breakfast. "I'm ready!"she said breathlessly. The three adults looked over at her and started laughing as they took in her appearance. Her dirty blond (light brown) hair was all over in her face and her shoes were still untied.
"Nice try Jessie. Come here and let me deal with that hair of yours." Jodi grabbed a brush off of the counter and had Jessie sit on one of the chairs at the table. She started to brush Jessie's hair, pulling it into a braid and tied her shoes. "There. Now you're ready." Jodi said and Dean and Sam stood up.
"Alright then. Come on, Pie Thief. We got a full day ahead of us." Dean said as he stood. He knelt down with his back to her and, giggling, she jumped on his back piggy back style. They walked out of the house and Jessie saw Sam moving her booster seat out of Jodi's car and into the impala.
"Where are we going Daddy?" Jessie asked.
"Well, that's one of your presents. The two of us are going to spend the entire day together doing whatever you want to do." Dean grinned. (A/n I was going to have Sam go with them but this is their father/daughter tradition)
"Can we go and get pie for breakfast?" She asked, so excited that it seemed to Sam that she would explode. He shook his head as his brother's grin widened.
"I like the way you think, Pie Thief. Pie for breakfast coming right up." Dean said as he stopped by the open back door of the impala and swung Jessie off of his back and into her seat. He buckled her up, closed the door, climbed into the driver seat and turned on the ignition. Sam waved as they began to pull out of the driveway and he turned to see Jodi waving from the front door.
(A/n the media is Jodi's house. At least that's how I picture it. Please go ahead and comment.)
