"Alright. We're just going to take a bit of DNA so that we can perform the tests and get this matter all cleared up as fast as possible." One of the medics at the station said cheerfully and I just stared up at her.

"Can I go in and see my dad while we wait for the results?" I ask, fighting to keep all emotion out of my voice, but a sort of sad hope leaked out against my will. The medic glanced down at me and our eyes met before she answered me.

"I'm sorry dear, but that's against the rules. We have to wait to verify your relationship with that gentleman before we can allow you to go in and see him." She said apologetically and I raised an eyebrow at her.

"Seriously? Even if he wasn't my biological father, which he is, he's still the man who raised me. I should have; no, I do have every right to see him." I stood angrily, glaring at her.

"Excuse me, miss. I am sorry but it is against the rules." She said, giving me a stern look.

"Screw you and your dumb rules. I'm going to see my dad." I stated, moving towards the door and throwing it open.

"Hey! Get back here!" The medic came running after me as I zipped through the station. I grabbed one of the water coolers that they had standing around and threw it down on the ground, knocking it right into the path of the medic and sending the water flying across the floor. I could hear people cursing and falling down. I ducked down a hall and began to peek in the different rooms, trying to find the one that they were holding my dad in.

"Come on, where are you?" I muttered under my breath. Turns out that the one room with out a window in the door was the one they had him in. Don't know why I didn't think of it before, but I guess what they say is true. It's always the last place you look that you find what you're searching for.  I opened the door just as my dad finished picking the lock on the handcuffs that they had him in.

"Finally!" He exclaimed as he pulled them off, rubbing his sore wrists.

"Dad, what's the plan?" I asked as I can in the room and he looked over at me.

"What took you so long? We could have been on the road by now if you had been here to help me out of those things." He grumbled playfully and I rolled my eyes.

"Sorry, the morons were taking my DNA for some dumb test to see if I'm really your kid." I said and he froze, staring at me.
"What?" I asked, glancing behind me quickly in case the cops were there.

"They took what?" He whispered in shock, coming towards me.

"My...  DNA. Why? Dad, what's wrong?" I asked, getting scared. His hand flew up to the back of his head.

"That's why they took the hair. Jess, we gotta get out of here. Now. Before they get those results." He warned me by before we could another breath could hear some muffled yelling coming from somewhere in the station and my dad swore before grabbing my shoulders and pulling me into a hug.

"Dad, what's going on?" I mumbled into his chest as I wrapped my arms around him.

"Jess, there's some stuff from a long time ago that they'll find with my DNA. Stuff that will allow them to lock me up for a long time." He warned me and I pulled away a little so our eyes could meet.

"Run. I can distract them so you can get away. Get out of here and get Sam to help out with this mess." I told him and he looked down at me mournfully.    "Go Dad. You won't have much time." I warned him shoving him away from me.

"I love you, Jess. Remember that. I'll be back as soon as I can. I promise." He kissed the top of my head and nodded at me. I turned and ran out the door into the main office.

"Hey, what are you doing here?" One of the guards asked me warily as he approached me.

"Doing this!" I flipped him off and laughed as he swore before launching myself down a hallway in the opposite direction of where my dad was. The guards came chasing after me and away from where my dad was escaping. I laughed the entire chase because it went on for like 15 minutes. By the time they caught me, my dad was long gone. I grinned as they all started to go crazy trying to figure out how he could have gotten out and where he could have gone. But, I couldn't help but worry about him. What if he got caught again? What stuff was he talking about? And, how long until he would be back for me?
