I scrolled through the news report again, trying to confirm the facts.
"A djinn." I muttered, a little uncertain. I had heard what djinn could do. They were not something you wanted to mess around with. "Its perfect." I decided, saving all of the files to my laptop. A djinn was a big enough deal that if I took it out successfully, then no one would be able to tell me I wasn't ready to hunt. This was just what I needed. I shut my laptop firmly and glanced around the dinner quickly before taking a quick sip of my coke.
"Oh, pie, come to mamma." I moaned, taking a bite of the amazing chocolate pie. I was so busy eenjoying my pie that I missed seeing a familiar face come walking in.
"Jess?" I looked up and nearly choked on my pie when I saw Garth standing over me.
"Garth!" I exclaimed when I choked it down and he sat across from me.
"Hey. What are you doing here by yourself? Are Sam and Dean around here somewhere?" Garth asked and I shook my head.
"No, actually they sent me on ahead to check out this possible case. You know, see if it was our sort of thing or not. They should be here soon." I lied smoothly. Garth nodded before standing back up.
"Well, when they get here, tell them to give me a call. Maybe we can work together, just like old times." Garth said with a grin and I nodded. I watched until he had walked away and into the bathroom before throwing my payment for the food down on the table and leaving the diner. I would have to make a quick stop at my motel room, but then....
"Time to find me a djinn." I whispered as I ran.
