Beep..... Beep...... Beep..... They all watched in amazement as her heart began to beat again. Slowly at first but steadying quickly. Dean stared at the machine that had just stopped moments ago, then back at his daughter's face. Searching, for any sort of clue that could tell him what had just happened. The nurses and doctors around him were murmuring to each other, something about it being a miracle. Dean knew better. He knew that there was no such thing as miracles. Not for Winchesters.
"Dad?" Everyone froze when they heard that word and the room became so silent you could hear a pin drop. Dean fought through the doctors and nurses that were in his way until he heard it again.
"Dad?" He finally made it to the bedside and there she was. Jess, awake after more than a week of being in a coma.
"I'm right here Jess." He said, taking one of her hands in his again and she looked at him, confused.
"Dad, where are we? What's going on?" She asked, staring up at him.
"Jess, what's the last thing you remember?" He asked and she closed her eyes as though trying to recall.
"Oh my gosh. West. The shot." She recalled, trying to sit up but Dean let go of her hand and held her down gently.
"Take it easy Pie Thief. Don't want to cause any more damage." He said and she looked at him with horror.
"So, it really happened?" She asked and he slowly nodded. There was a slight pause. "How bad is it, Dad?" Dean paused and that was more than answer. She bit her lip and fought back tears.
"Hey, its going to be okay. As long as nothing goes wrong, it'll heal just fine. Alright? You just have to take it easy for a while." He said gently and she turned her head away from him.
"Yeah Dad. Sure." She said not looking at him.
