@Melsy101 congrats! You guessed the right present! Enjoy this chapter you guys!
"Dude, no way." Sam said in amazement, staring from the gift to his brother.
"I don't even have one."

"You got Jess a car?!?" Ian exclaimed and everyone laughed at his expression.

"Not quite Ian." I told him and Dad chuckled.

"It's a key to the impala. You're 16 now. It's about time that I start teaching you how to drive." Dad said and he looked down at me.
"What do ya say? Want to take her out for a spin?" He asked, already expecting my answer.

"Yes!! Yes, let's go!" I exclaimed excitedly, taking my dad by the hand and pulling him after me. He laughed as I tugged him along behind me.

"Alright. If you two want to come, I suggest you go hop in the backseat of Impala while you still have time." Dad teased and I playfully glared at him while Uncle Sam laughed.

"I wanna come!" Ian shouted, running ahead of us, making Dad and Uncle Sam laugh even harder.

A few minutes later we were all settled into the Impala and Dad was beginning to give me instructions on getting the Impala out of the garage.

"Alright, so first things first. Everyone buckle up unless you wish to make an unplanned trip up or downstairs today." Uncle Sam joked out and I turned to stick my tongue out at him.

"Haha, so funny I forgot to laugh." I said, rolling my eyes at him and he made a face at me.

"Alright, come on. Focus now. First things first, adjust the seat so that you can reach the pedals." Dad instructed, chuckling. I moved the seat forward a little bit so that I could comfortably reach the pedals.
"Check the mirrors, make sure that you can see in them." Dad pointed to the mirrors and I adjusted them slightly.

"Move your big head Uncle Sam, I can't see out the back window." I joked and he made another little face at me before moving over.

"Alright. Now, turn on the car." Dad said, turning my attention back to the task at hand. I put my new key into the ignition and started the engine up. I smiled as I felt the familiar rumble of the Impala engine spread against the car. I shifted into reverse slowly and Dad began to give me instructions on what to do. We pulled away from the bunker and onto the empty highway where the entrance rested.

"Can I have a turn Dad?" Ian asked from the backseat and Dad chuckled.

"Maybe when your older bud. Today is just for Jess though. We're going where she wants. She calls the shots today." Dad said, and I'm sure that he would have winked at me if I hadn't been so focused on the road.

We didn't do all that much that day. We came to the nearest town, stopped at a diner where we all got something to eat, and me getting pie and a Coke to go as well. We just hung out together, as a family.

"Alright, now take it easy as you turn in. Not so fast. Go easy, don't want to scratch up Baby, now do we?" Dad said as I began to pull back into the driveway.

"How'd I do?" I asked him as I finished parking and turned the engine off.

"Perfect landing Pie Thief." Dad said as we climbed out and he walked over and wrapped his arm around my shoulder. "Perfect landing." He repeated before kissing the top of my head and we followed Ian and Uncle Sam back into the bunker where we all crashed on the couch and watched some of my favorite musicals, all of us cracking jokes left and right for the rest of the night.
