Meredith gasped for breath as she dug her hand into the light-colored wall. She couldn't be back in this environment. She let out a strangled breath while pacing around. Dropping to a crouch before standing quickly again. She finally stood still, sitting on the edge of the bed as her eyes darted. She was supposed to be getting better yet she felt crazy. How had so much changed? She felt fine the past week. The meds were working. But now it felt as if it was all the same. She slowly pulled on her hair strands.
She could feel a different presence. This isn't how she was supposed to feel. The pills were supposed to make her better but they weren't.
She stood again and paced a little more slowly. She felt weak. She felt slow, ragged. Her mind went from a crazy haze to slowly shut down. She gasped painfully as her eyes rested halfway, a fluttering sensation filling them as she collapsed to the ground.
Her body convulsing as it shook on the floor. Small incoherent grunts emitted from her mouth as the feeling lasts forever.
Soon, the shaking slowed, and small spasms as a dribble of drool fell down her cheek. Her breath was raspy as she lay unconscious on the on-call room floor. The door locked, leaving her stuck in her demise.

Meredith's eyes fogged over as she slowly sat up, her head pulsed as she dizzily grabbed the metal poles of the bed at her side. Her head pounded as she stumbled over her own feet and had to sit back on the uncomfortable bunk from the pounding on her skull.
The pain almost brought tears to her eyes as she held her head. She didn't know what happened. She was going crazy in her head and then suddenly it was all gone. And now she was just in pain.
Time wasn't even relative anymore. She didn't know how long she had been in this small private room. But she also didn't care.
Meredith slowly laid back and groaned as her tender head came in contact with the rough pillowcase. Maybe it was too soon to go back. Maybe the thought of the work environment was stressing her out and she just needed other weeks to break.
She slowly stood, her knees weak as she stumbled to the door, trying her best to stand tall and straight. She slowly opened the door and cleared her throat, looking at a clock on the wall to see only two hours had passed. Not too much time wasted but still long.
Meredith just took in a deep breath while turning on her heel to find either Maggie or Amelia. She located the familiar brunette and lightly grasped her arm, causing her to jump.
"Sorry, sorry I- I need to go home. This is- it's too much." Meredith exhaled while holding her head in her hands. Amelia nodded while rubbing her back.
"It's okay. It's okay. I'm proud of you for coming here today." Amelia nodded while pulling back the coat in her hands.
"I can get us both the rest of the day off and we'll spend some time with the kids," Amelia suggested. Meredith nodded slowly as her eyes continued to bounce around the room, although the fluorescent lights brightened the room, the corners seemed to be dark and the people seemed to be eerie.
Meredith just closed her eyes tight, trying to push out the scary images and thoughts just for the people around her, following Amelia down the halls motionlessly.
"Okay, let me speak to Bailey then we'll get the kids." She smiled.

The four of them sat in the car silently, Meredith's nail digging into the flesh on her forearm as the light sound of music from the radio emitted.
