the temperature had dropped drastically since you had entered the shop. the wind had also picked up a bit, whipping your cheeks cold. your phone had just barely had enough juice left for you to keep your flashlight on. cutting your flashlight off, you stumble around the sidewalk in the darkness.

you pass on to the street in hopes at a smoother walk home. a light drizzle had begun and you wouldn't want to get caught in a cold rain.

headlights shinning brightly behind you made you scurry back over to the sidewalk. the car sped past you before coming to abrupt halt a few meters ahead. you feel a little antsy knowing you'd have to past the car.

you could be kidnapped, mugged, anything! you mind wanders aimlessly at horrible things that could happen to you. you were so wrapped up in your mind, you didn't even hear him call your name at first. "[y/l/n]!" a voice called louder.

you slowly turned to face the car which was now right beside you. you bent down a little to see who was in the car. professor tengen looked back you with his usual RBF.

"professor what the hell are you doing out here?" you question. "i could be asking you the same thing." he says. "get in."

you shake your head. "i'm fine, i can walk home." you call back. you begin to walk again but he slowly rolls behind you. you stopped to turn towards his car.

"professor i'm fine! really." you mumble.

"well if you want to be drenched in water then suit yourself." he shrugs. "it's not even raining-" your sentence is cut short by a loud clap of thunder. for some odd reason, zenitsu flashes into your mind for a moment but you dismiss it quickly. clambering into the passenger seat, you shut the door just as the rain starts.

the interior of his car was very bright. the seats were a blood red with black coverings. diamond covered dice hung from his rear-view mirror. it smelled like nice cologne wrapping your nose in a hug. once you clicked in your seatbelt, he took off.

"where to?" he asked.

"it's just around the corner." you say. the air didn't feel as tense as when you had first met, but there was still little tension. "how come you're out here walking? can't you drive?" tengen asked. you shrugged. "i can, i just didn't want to."

"where were you coming from?"

"the butterfly cafe. it's super cute inside!" you exclaim.

tengen chuckled a little, surprising you. you thought he was an emotionless asshole. his chuckle sent goosebumps all down your arms and legs.

"so you like nature i assume?" he questions. "oh yeah! i love nature. it's so beautiful." you smile. you got so excited talking about things you loved. that was something that could make or break your character. people either loved it or hated it.

"what do you like, professor?"

"just call me tengen out of school. though i like the ring professor has to it." he smiled.
you push you legs together to control some of the pressure building up. something about his laugh was so mesmerizing.

"but i enjoy partying, i'm like a festival god, if you will." he looks over at you for a brief second, his smile shining through the dark. you're glad that it's dark, or else he probably would've seen you face glowing pink.

"so you mean you're actually pretty cool?" you joke. "of course i'm cool. i'm only 23you know!" he fights back.

"oh seriously? i thought you were like 47 honestly." tengen puts his hand over his chest and fake gasps. "ohhhhh!" he cries. he laughs a little more before turning the corner. you felt somewhat upset as your little banter with tengen was about to end.

he seemed like a fun person to be around when he wasn't being rude. "right here." you point to your building and he pulls into the parking lot. you unbuckle your seatbelt before grabbing your purse from beneath your leg.

"thank you tengen." you smile. he nods, sending a small smile your way. you get out of the car before waving one last final goodbye.

he speeds off towards the exit of the complex and you walk up to your apartment. the warm air felt good on your cold hands. being alone with tengen in his car kept replaying over and over in your mind. his deep laugh made your heart skip a few beats.

the fact that he was so young was mind blowing too. he was only four years older than you. you brushed tengen to the back of your mind for as long as possible. you still needed to finish this art project you never even started.
