Mate?

Gabriel's POV

"Oh my!" My mother gasped when Eva slumped on my lap. I cradled her close to my body and pushed the hair out of her face.

"What am I going to do?" I asked my parents. Mom gently put a blanket on Eva and I gave her a grateful smile.

"It'll be fine, Son. She'll adjust to it" my father said "You should have seen your mother when I told her I was a wolf. She nearly beat me to death with her softball bat and kept cursing me out in Spanish. She said and I quote 'Get out you mangy mutt before I tranquilize you and call animal control" he chuckled at the memory and Mom glared. Gavin snorted and I smiled.

At least Eva didn't beat me to death.

"How did you tell her?" I asked him and he smiled.

"We were celebrating our 1 year anniversary from when we officially started dating. I took her to dinner and we went back to her apartment. We were sitting on the couch when I decided to tell her what I am. I didn't want to hide anything from her because it was eating me up inside. When I told her, she started laughing and I did the only thing I knew what to do" he said while blushing a little.

"Oh God, please tell me he didn't transform into his wolf right in front of you?" Gavin asked Mom. She chuckled and nodded her head. Gavin and I groaned.

"Why would you do that?" He asked and dad shrugged.

"She was laughing in my face! What was I suppose to do?"

"How about easing her into it?" Gavin suggested and dad shrugged again.

"I did what I had to do" he said

"Yeah, and you got a beating for it" I said.

"It was a well worth beating" he said and mom smiled.

"Then what happened?" I asked next. Mom smiled.

"After I got over the initial shock, I realized that I couldn't live without him. I was in love with him and couldn't let him go. I learn to love him for what he was and the next month, we were engaged. A year after that, we had you and from them on, I've been the happiest woman in the world" she said and dad kissed her.

Eva stirred in my arms and I kissed her forehead. A beep coming from the corner distracted me from the beautiful girl on my lap. Mom picked up Eva's purse and looked at me. I held my hands up in surrender.

"I don't know what to do with that" I said and she took Eva's phone out of her purse.

"Her mom just texted her" she said.

"What did she say?" I asked, praying that she didn't ask where Eva was at.

"She said, she just got called in and will be working late at the hospital. She wants to know about the date tomorrow and wishes her a goodnight" mom read and I looked down at Eva. She was my life and I was already starting to fall for her. She stirred again and snugged deeply into my chest. I laughed quietly and she opened her eyes.

"Gabriel, I just had the weirdest dream" she said and looked around the room. "You were there, and you were there, and you were there" she said pointing to Gavin, my parents, and I. Everyone laughed.

"What was it about?" I asked while twirling her hair. She rubbed her eyes.

"That you were a bunch of Werewolves and I was your mate" she said and the room got quiet. She closed her eyes and sighed. "That wasn't a dream, was it" she whispered and I shook my head.

"I'm afraid not Love" I said and she sighed while putting her head against my chest. I rubbed her back quietly and nodded for my family to leave the room. They took the hint and soon, the both of us were alone.

"Is this why I'm so attracted to you?" She asked suddenly and I tried to hold back my goofy grin. She liked me!

"A little. The bond is only there to make us aware of each other's presence. The rest is totally up to us. The reason why were so attracted to each other is because we feel that way. Not the curse" I said and she nodded. "Don't be afraid to ask me questions. I'm here to answer anything you want me to"

"Was that you who visited me in the dream?" She asked and I nodded.

"Yes, it was me. You see when a Green's bonder is near, we have a dream. That doesn't necessarily mean that we'll meet them that exact day, or month, or even year. It just tells us that their near and we'll meet them in the future. What the dream tells us though is what our bonder looks like and our wolf gets to mark you" I finished and she gasped.

"That's why you bit me!" She yelled and I cringed.

"I didn't mean too!" I said quickly "My wolf just has a mind of his own!" I said and her eyebrows scrunched together.

"What do you mean?" She asked "don't you control your wolf?"

"No, Love. What you hear about werewolf's in books is totally different. When I'm in my regular form, I can control it. But when I'm in wolf form, my wolf comes out and controls me. I mean I have a say in a little of what he does, but other than that, he mostly goes off of his animal instincts" I said and she nodded.

"Anything else?" I asked

"Yes, um what was your great-great-great-great-great-great grandparents names?" She asked in a whisper

"My great-great-great-great-great-great grandmothers names was Delilah Olivia Green and my great-great-great-great-great-great Grandfather was..."

"Lucas Xavier Green" she whispered before I was able to tell her.

I looked at her in surprise.

"How did you know that?" I asked and she looked at her lap. "Eva?" I asked while putting my finger under her chin and lift her face up to mine. Our eyes met and I got momentarily distracted. She was gorgeous.

"I'm tired" she said softly and I sighed.

"Okay, but you're telling me how you knew my great-great-great-great-great-great grandfathers name tomorrow" I said and she nodded her head. "Since it's already 2 in the morning, I suppose you're staying here" I said and her eyes widen.

"WHAT!" She screeched and I nodded my head. "My mother's gonna kill me" she muttered. I handed her phone to her.

"She's not even home" I said and she released her breath.

"Thank God" she said. I laughed and stood up with her in my arms. She squealed.

"Gabriel, I'm not taking your bed. I'll sleep on the couch" she said and I laughed.

"Do you honestly think that I'll let you sleep on the couch?" I said and she giggled. I kicked open my bedroom door and deposited Eva gently on my bed. I went to my closet and pulled out a t-shirt and some sweatpants. "I know that they won't fit, but I thought that it'll be better then sleeping in your dress tonight" I said and she smiled gratefully.

"Thank you, Gabriel. I'm sorry for freaking out earlier and calling you all those horrible names" she said and I shook my head.

"Don't worry about it Love, I'm pretty sure I would have flipped too" I said and she laughed while heading to my bathroom to change.

I grabbed some spare blankets and made a bed on the floor. Eva came out and looked at me weirdly.

"You know, I could have taken the floor?" She said and I gave her a 'no chance in hell' look. She held up her hands in surrender. "I just didn't want you to be uncomfortable"

"Love, I would be uncomfortable if I knew you were sleeping on the floor all night. Plus, I'm pretty sure that my mother would murder me in my sleep if I let you sleep on the floor" I said and she giggled. My wolf purred. "Now good night love, you need your rest"

"Good night Gabriel, sweet dreams" she said sleepily. I smiled.
