Evangeline's POV

"Okay class, please read chapter 35 so that next week we'll be able to talk about FDR'S New Deal" my history teacher announced as the bell rang. The class just grumbled and nodded before departing. I sighed. I was glad that the weekend was here. I needed some peace and relaxation if I was going to deal with Dorothea all weekend.

I collected my stuff and waited at the curb for my mother. Gavin said to meet him at his house in a couple hours and I couldn't help but feel nervous. I mean, not after what he said about Gabriel. Every time I thought about it, I would get these butterflies in my stomach.

I saw my mother pull up earlier than I expected.

Well I guess I was going to the Green's sooner rather than later.

Gabriel's POV

As soon as I got into my car, I pounded my head on the steering wheel.

I can't believe I chickened out and ran from my mate. Just think about her gave me goosebumps. I looked at my left hand and smiled. The tattoo was already showing. It wrapped around my whole ring finger like a wedding band and traveled up my arm. Intricate designs decorated my arm and I couldn't help but stare at it. It was no where near completion because it has to travel up my arm and stop where my heart is. I smiled but then frowned.

HOW THE HELL AM I SUPPOSE TO EXPLAIN THIS TO HER!

I was distracted by my internal conflict when the passenger door of my car was opened. Gavin got in and looked at me expectantly. I sighed.

"What!" I snapped when the silence was killing me.

"That's all you have to say?!" He said angrily.

"What was I suppose to say? 'Hey Evangeline! Sorry for scaring you with my purring! I'm a Werewolf and when my wolf see's you blush, it drives us insane! Oh and by the way, if you're wondering why it drives us insane, it's because you're my bonder/mate, the other half of my soul, the person I'm suppose to spend my entire life with!' Is that what you wanted me to say Gavin" I yelled and he slumped in his chair while crossing his arms.

"No" he grumbled. "But you could have made an excuse to her before you flew out of the cafeteria like a bat out of hell"

I sighed. He was right. I left her without an explanation.

"You're right, but if I didn't leave, I would have done something extremely stupid" I said and he sighed.

"Yeah, I know. It's just that her face was confused and sad. I don't like seeing her like that because I already consider her my sister now" he said and I smiled. Eva has made my whole family love her in less that 24 hours.

"Thank you Gavin, it means a lot to me that you guys love her already" I said and he laughed. I grumbled.

"You know, ever since Eva came along, you've been a lot more mushy" he said and I laughed.

"Don't get used to it" I said while starting up my car.

"Mom! We're Home!" Gavin screamed and we heard the shuffling of little feet running down the stairs. I grimaced. Those two had too much energy.

"Gaby! Gavy! Guess what we're doing!" They yelled. I looked at Gavin and he shrugged.

"What are we doing?" I asked them. They were going to answer when my father's voice boomed through the house.

"Boys! Come here for a second!" He said and we made our way to the living room. I was surprised because by father usual came home around dinner time.

"Hey Pops!" Gavin said while plopping on the couch. Dad rolled eyes.

"Dad, what are you doing here?" I asked and he grinned.

"Because, my dear son. We are going for a run" he said and Gavin jumped up so fast that you think he was on fire.

"Really?" He asked excitedly. Even I had to admit, I was excited to go for a run too. It has been a long time since I've been in my wolf form.

"Yes, I think we all need a break and our wolves need to be let loose" he said and my mother walked in with some spare clothes. I took them out of her hands and kissed her cheek. Gavin did the same.

"Now boys, listen to your father. I don't wanna have any accidents and end up killing him for hurting my babies" she said and the twins giggle. Dad kissed her cheek before going threw the patio doors. We all followed. Mom sat on the deck and watched us with a loving smile on her face.

Dad closed his eyes and in an instant, he was a huge dark grey wolf. The twins were next, transforming into their light grey wolves. They started chasing each other around and put their butts in the air like puppies. Mom laughed and dad gave her a wolffish grin. Gavin ran and in mid-stride turned into his light brown wolf. I shook my head.

"SHOW-OFF" I yelled and he barked. I closed my eyes and felt my body humming with change. In the next moment, I was covered in midnight black fur and on four paws. We all took off running into the huge forest behind our house. Since we are in our animal form, we communicate with pictures instead of words. Since regular wolves in the wild can't talk to each other, neither can we. Only our mates can communicate with us in either wolf or human form because only mates should have the privilege of invading our minds.

Dad sent us a image of the lake and we all ran towards it. The twins were racing each other, Gavin was dodging in and out of the trees, dad was behind the twins making sure that they didn't get hurt and I was just enjoying nature's beauty.

We got to the lake a few minutes later and relaxed. My dad and the twins were wrestling, Gavin was swimming in the lake and I was sleeping in wolf form when suddenly my dad stiffened and his ears pulled back. I could tell he was talking to mom because his eyes darkened. Suddenly he barked at us and we were immediately on alert. I scraped my paw against the dirt to ask him what happened when he sent us an image in our heads.

It was of mom opening the door to a smiling Evangeline. My wolf took off in a sprint towards the direction of our house. My dad barked threateningly but my wolf didn't care. I sensed the twins behind me, they too were eager to see Evangeline.

We were in the clearing just behind the house and I saw my mother talking to Eva through the glass patio doors. She was laughing at something my mother said and my wolf purred with satisfaction. She glanced outside and her mouth opened wide. She started pointing at us and I could hear some what of she was saying.

"Wolves" she said to my mother. Mom got up and acted surprise to see us. She tried to calm Eva down and pull her away from the window.

The twins were practically falling over each other just to show her their wolf. My dad shot out in front of us, immediately halting everyone. He barked and nodded his big head. I growled lowly and he barked again while shaking his head. I looked over at Eva and noticed that she was looking at us. Specifically me. My father was right. I couldn't show her what we were. No yet. I couldn't lose her when I just found her.

Dad barked one last time and we went back into the forest. The twins were whimpering and I howled before we left.

I couldn't wait until she knew this part of my life.
