Gabriel's POV

My heart broke as I watched Eva's body slump to the floor. Her chest no longer rising and falling with each breath she took.

My wolf was howling in pain and tears were pouring down my face.

"When I get out if these chains, I will rip you into shreds" I snarled at the evil woman standing over my mate's lifeless body with a smile on her face.

She looked at me and chuckled.

"Sweetie, the next time you'll be out of these chains, is when they'll be preparing your body for the morgue"

Gavin's POV

"How do you think the Ball's going?" I asked my family when the show decided to go on break. My father checked his watched and his eyebrows furrowed.

"Shouldn't they be back already?" He asked and Mom nodded her head.

"Should I call them?" She asked and dad shook his head.

"No, maybe they're just getting something to eat" Dad said.

"But don't you think Gabriel would have called us already? He usually does when there's a change of plans"

I was about to say something when all our electricity turned off. Being a werewolf, I was able to see in the dark and noticed both my Uncle and Cousin stiffen.

They growled lowly in their throats that cause shivers to run through the room.

"What is it Richie?" My aunt asked.

"Wolves" he replied through clenched teeth.

My Uncle was very protective over his family, especially with new pups on the way, and when an unidentified wolf trespassed on his family's territory, he was not a happy camper.

"What do you mean?" Dad questioned. "Maybe we just had a short circuit?"

"No, there are definitely werewolves outside, listen" Kaden said and everyone was quiet. I heard leaves crunching under paws and I immediately knew something wasn't right.

First Gabriel not calling and now this?

"Honey, take Camille and the boys to the attic and stay there until we come get you" Dad said before ushering her to the stairs. She kissed him before taking the twins and my aunt up to the attic. The boys were crying and Grant was snoring softly.

I looked at my Uncle and Cousin and noticed their eyes were glowing a bright Emerald, a sign that their wolves were in control.

I felt my skin start to tingle and tighten, a sign that my wolf was ready to fight and protect his family.

I heard a loud snarl before our front door flew off its hinges and a dozen wolves charged at us.

Eva's POV

I was in a room completely basked in white light. There were no windows and no doors. I was completely alone.

"Hello? Is anyone there?" I yelled but there was no response. I tried to find a door but I didn't know where to start. The room was never ending.

After an hour of searching for a way out, I gave out and slumped to the floor. The tears started flowing and soon, I was sobbing.

I was never going to see my mother again, or the Green's, or even Gabriel.
