I see movement on my right. The blonde guy that shot me with the arrow. He speaks up," Who are you and which pack are you from?" He questions, raising and eyebrow.

I don't answer him. Another guy with brown hair tries talking to me," You aren't leaving until you tell us..."

Realistically, I know arguing won't get me anywhere. I need to inform them of my pack and why I was running away.

"My name is Scarlett Moskovitz, Beta of the Crescent Wolfpack and member of the Estiel royal family. Who are you?" I ask with annoyance clear in my voice.

I'm exhausted, my body aches, I'm starving and that witch started a headache.

They instantly tense up upon hearing my title. The Alpha replies" Why were you running through our territory?"

Goodness, where are their manners.

I so very politely introduced myself and they don't do the same. "I answered your question, now, answer mine." I say, raising an eyebrow.

I need to leave. Every second, my pack gets closer to finding me. "I don't think you're in a position to make demands" the brunette tells me. "Look I do not have time for this...I have places to be and you are wasting my time. I am not a threat to you or your pack." I say...hoping they will be kind enough to just let me go.

Hope is a fickle thing...

" You aren't leaving this cell until we know why you crossed over into our territory. We don't appreciate intruders, princess." The Alpha says with a smug smirk on his face.

I just want to scrape it off his pretty face with a brick.

Why do I think he has a pretty face, he captured me.

I walk over to the gate and stand right in front of him. Wow he definitely has a pretty face. "That's really none of your business. Like I said before, I am no threat to you. So you can let me out now."

This is going no where. I feel light headed and start swaying. I catch myself before I fall, and sit on the concrete floor.

"She is weak and wounded. We need to get her food and medical attention. Maybe if she is healed, she will be more willing to talk to us." The blonde guy tells the others, while staring at me curiously.

"Blondie's right, I am exhausted. Someone shot me with an arrow..." I glare at him. He scowls back. " Leave and get everything you need to mend her. I'll stay here and question her some more." The alpha instructs.

Everyone leaves and it's just me and the alpha. "What is your name? I think it's only fair you tell me. I've already told you mine." I ask, hoping that the interrogation ends quicker.

"Ares Hale, alpha of the styx pack." He answers me. Finally, we are getting somewhere.

There is something weird going on. I find myself drawn to him.

This is going to be a problem.

At least he's a hot problem.

I have to focus.

I stand again, right in front of Ares. He steps closer, lifting his hand towards the bars between us. I don't feel the need to push him away, instead wanting to be closer.

That tingling sensation shoots through my body again. Ares and I hold eye contact. Not taking his eyes away from mine, he reaches out and caresses my cheek.

Instant butterflies. It feels like my skin is on fire. I step back away from the contact.

"You're my mate."

I'm stunned. I don't know what to say.
I never thought I'd find him so soon. This jumbles my plan. I have to leave, he will only be an obstacle.

But a part of me wants to give in. "We are not mates." I state. I can't get caught...I have to stay on track.

"I know you feel it too" Ares says, stepping back.

We are interrupted by a knock on the door. Blondie walks in with the other brunette. Ares leaves the three of us in the dungeon. They open my cell and I try and escape, but it's like that witch numbed my entire body. I can't escape.

"Sorry...but we can't have you running away." The brunette says when he sees me struggling." I'm Aaron, nice to meet you." He says with a small smile. Well at least he's friendly. Blondie speaks up, "I'm Elias. Sorry about the arrow thing, but you were going to jump into a river." He explains.

Seeing Elias up close reminds me of Elijah. They are so unbelievably similar, with their blonde hair being the same.
There is a boyish quality that I see in Elias, the same my brother used to have. The only difference being their eye-colour.

I'm snapped out of my trance.

I don't say anything. I don't exactly know what to say to them. Elias starts cleaning my wounds. Wounds from jumping out the window and the force field fiasco. Aaron starts feeding me chicken soup. Slowly bring the spoon to my mouth...until it's all gone.

Not gonna lie...I thought this would go way worse than what it is now. These people aren't my enemies. My body feels a lot better and I'm helped to a creaky bed in the corner of my cell. I didn't notice it before. It looks foul, but I don't think it's going to get better than this.

I sit up with a grimace...my wounds almost healed. I'm given medication for my headache. " The sooner you answer our questions...the sooner you get to leave." Aaron says with a hopeful smile on his face. Then I'm left in the cell. I can't hear a single sound.

The thought of this dungeon being sound-proofed, creating an unsettling feeling in my stomach.

I don't think I'm going to leave anytime soon. Considering I've just found my mate. He wont let me go, won't let me continue with my plan. This is just an unexpected problem I couldn't have seen coming.

My eyes are starting to droop, the chase took a lot out of me. Sleep calling out to me.

I let the darkness swallow me and welcome sleep. But thoughts on a certain alpha bounces through my mind just before I fall asleep.

Ares Hale
