"Scarlett, can you please come here...it's almost time!"The sound of my mother's voice echoes through the hall. Today I will be meeting a very important person apparently. I don't feel like getting ready...I'm so tired. My eyes won't stay open.

I peel myself out of my warm, comfortable bed and sit down at my window seat. I stare out into the distance watching the sun shine over the land. I'm just going to rest my eyes for a bit...like what's the worst that could happen?

bang!

What the fuck was that...

"Scarlett, I told you to get out of bed and get ready...the guest is going to be here soon."says my mother in an annoyed tone.

I don't want to get ready...I don't even like people."Okay mother dearest, I will get ready right now, just for you."I say in the sweetest tone I could muster up.

I couldn't sleep at all, I was up the entire night. I eventually got bored of trying to sleep so I thought up some scenarios...but they were getting so interesting...so I made up an entire story. Honestly the creativity skills are immaculate.

"You have to wear a corset and a dress...I want you to look amazing. Don't forget all the classes you attended."My mother is a perfectionist and if you don't meet her standards, she will fixate on every single detail until there is absolutely nothing out of place.

I just happen to be clumsy and can barely hold my tongue when it comes to situations I should really keep quiet in. I'm trying to work on it though. It's not my fault I feel the need to express my opinion on absolutely everything. The world needs my input. "Who exactly am I meeting today?" I ask...hoping she will just answer the question so i can move on with my life.

"You seriously forgot!? I told you yesterday at dinner so that you could prepare." Well im sorry I was distracted by my dinner...I say in my head because if i said that out loud I would get a pillow thrown at my head. I don't really feel like dealing with that right now so I keep quiet. I actually keep quiet...I am really improving.

A pillow lands right on my head...

Oops...I guess I said that out loud.

Well I tried. Let's move on shall we...

'His name is Demetrius, the alpha of the
Waylyn pack. We are discussing an alliance...to merge our packs." She explains while I keep a straight face trying to remember the her telling me this last night. I move over to freshen up in the bathroom.

I am the Beta of my pack...I know shocker there. But believe it or not I am an amazing fighter, have tracking skills like no other and I'm quite smart when it comes to strategizing. I also have a cool sense of humor so really...I'm the whole package.

Well let's just pretend I am so I feel better about myself, because I can be a little much sometimes.

I just want to make my parents happy.  They've lost their spark since my younger brother passed. Wait until people find out I'm a monster...it would be over for me. My family and I are the only people that know about what really  happened.

Oh look...now my mood is sour.

Great.

A hand is waved in front of my face. "Scarlett can you please focus...I'm going to the meeting room, I want you dressed and downstairs in half an hour. That should be enough time for you to change and eat breakfast." My mother instructs...while I'm instantly snapped out of my melancholic state.

"Okay mum, I'll be there soon." I say, getting up and moving over to the dress she laid out for me. I call my ladies maids in, to help me with my corset.

This is so uncomfortable, i feel like I can't even walk with how tight it is. Then in one quick flash *cough* twenty minutes later *cough* I am completely finished. I head downstairs for breakfast...before my mother feels the need to come up here again.

When I get downstairs I am instantly greeted with an older man, who looks a little younger than my  father's age.

Demetrius.

"Scarlett, you finally made it down from your room. How nice of you to grace us with your presence." My father says with a bored expression on his face.
Our relationship hasn't been the same since Elijah has been gone. It was my fault...I get it...but it's not like I wanted it to happen.

"Good morning father, and alpha Demetrius." I greet them and sit down for breakfast...I'm starving. The servants start dishing out food for everyone. I am part of the royal family of Estiel. One of the five kingdoms in this realm.

There is one  werewolf pack in each kingdom. We are the only werewolf family ruling a kingdom. The other kingdoms are ruled by other creatures.

Faelea, kingdom ruled by fae. Tylan, kingdom ruled by vampires. Lamarus, kingdom ruled by pixies and finally Mysten kingdom ruled by witches. Magical creatures live in all kingdoms scattered around, there isn't a specific kingdom for each creature...they can live wherever.

A tiny secret about me...I am part wolf and fae...so I can shift and control the elements. Pretty cool actually, although my people dont know and if they found out they would want another family to rule...and possibly kill me, but lets focus on the positive side. Another reason for my father to be disappointed in me. Why do I have to be such a let down.

No, I'm cool.

" Scarlett, We were just going over the details of the merge with the Waylyn pack." My mother informs me while reaching for a piece of toast." I think joining our packs will be a good move to maintain order in the kingdom." Alpha Demetrius adds...looking me in the eye.

Bitch, who is he trying to intimidate...because it's definitely not me."Once you sign here...the packs will be merged and you can mate.",My dad breaks the tension.

What the fuck... Who is he talking to? "Scarlett is one of our best warriors, so you won't be disappointed." He adds. "Excuse me, what do you mean mate...and why are you talking about me." I ask, feeling very confused and very much worried.

"Keep up Scarlett, we are joining the packs...so you will be mating with alpha Demetrius to complete the bond."My dad says and continues with the conversation but I can't hear a single thing. I'm frozen in place.

What the fuck...
