Nightfall

Chapter 27🌙

I wake up early so I can go and talk to Sophie about yesterday. I just want to make sure she's okay, and I know that Elias leaves early to get work done, so if I'm going to do this, now is the perfect time.

I get ready, and quietly go over to their bedroom, but I wait outside in case Elias is there.' Sophie, are you alone? Can I come in?' I mindlink her and wait for her answer.

'Hey, yeah sure. Elias left a little while ago.' She says back and I reach for the door knob, and walk into the room. I quietly close the door behind me and sit next to her on her bed.

"So, how did it go?" I ask. She seems fine, actually happy, so I think everything went well." We talked all night about the future and our expectations.

This topic was a little rough, we've had arguments about this before, so it was opening some old wounds, but everything is okay now. We understand what we want in the future." She explains and looks lost in thought.

"That's good. I'm happy you guys sorted everything out." I say, and she hums. She stands and goes over to the bathroom to freshen up.

This is the second time I've heard about these arguments and it sparks interest. I wonder what happend, but I know my place, so I won't ask because of how complicated it sounds.

We walk downstairs and grab breakfast. I was asked to supervise some of the pups today, so I walk outside and spot a young boy and young girl. They're off to the side collecting arrows, so I walk over and start gathering some up for archery later, so I walk over to them.

The girl turns toward me and tackles me in a hug, when she sees me approaching.

What is happening?

I don't even know her...

"You're Scarlett, our Luna." She shouts and squeezes me. The boy looks at me shyly and avoids eye contact.

"Can you show us your fae abilities?" She asks when she let's go of me and that gets the boy's attention.

"Yeah sure, what are your names?" I ask, and she grabs her brother and stands right in front of me.

"My name is Mila, and my brother's name is Teddy. We're twins." She explains. Now I realize they look really alike, I should've put it together sooner that they're related.

I bend so I'm at eye level with them and hold my palm out. I gather my energy and focus on the air element.

"Your hair is turning white." Mila squeals loudly, and I swirl my left hand in the air. I create a mini tornado in my right hand, and their faces light up.

I slowly take Teddy's hand and slowly put it in his hand, so he is holding it now.

They will be safe as along as I'm controlling the elements, so I add some spice to make the tornado better.

I flick a few flames into the tornado, so it contains wind and fire at the same time and it burns a bright orange-red colour.

"Wow, look there are flames now!" Teddy shouts, and his sister is mesmerized by the tornado. A few more kids gather around and all watch.

I spend the rest of the day training with them. Teaching them how to perfect their techniques, and the day is filled with laughter. I sense someone looking at me and turn to look.

I don't see anyone at first, then I see Ares and Elias talking amongst themselves while looking at me with the pups. They wave then walk into the house.

It's dinner time now, so I go up to my room to clean up before I eat. I change into comfortable clothes, and go to the dining table.
