Ares' pov:
Yesterday was strange.
I never thought I would have so much fun splashing my friends in a lake...but here we are. Scarlett's smile made her even more beautiful and her laugh is addicting.
I would do anything to see her smile, but a problem has risen.
We got a call from the Mysten pack, and they required our assistance. Demetrius was there and destroyed everything. He was searching for her.
He was searching for Scarlett...
Their pack was in pieces. They had some losses, losing young children and teenagers. I'm assuming Demetrius thought Scarlett would be hiding amongst them. What other reason would he hurt- no, kill children. He is a cruel man and he will pay for what he has done.
He will never take Scarlett away from me...never harm another soul. My close circle and I are creating a plan to rid the world of that evil man. Elias and Klaus have been talking to a coven of witches that could help us with our plan.
"Ares, focus..." Elias calls out. It's some time in the afternoon. We are currently in a forest trying to track a rogue werewolf. He is another piece of the puzzle to finding out what Demetrius' next move will be.
Everyone is out...we need as much help as we can get. They don't know the full story...all they know is that they have to track this werewolf.
Scarlett walks ahead of me, examining the ground for wolf paw prints. On her right hand's wrist, a black bracelet sits. I had Alexia put a spell on it so no one would track Scarlett. And so she wouldn't run away...although I think we are past that point. She is starting to trust us...slowly.
The bracelet will pull her towards me when she wanders off too far. Quite extreme if you ask me...but Alexia insisted we don't take risks.
I don't have a problem with it...it pulls my mate to me. I think it's actually kind of funny...but Scarlett finds it annoying. She is cute when she's annoyed.
"Why are we doing this again?" She asks while looking at Elias. She is bothered and let's out an exasperated sigh.
"We have to find that rogue werewolf. He has been troublesome. We almost caught him yesterday but he got away."
Elias answers from behind us."Well ruby...if you aren't a good tracker just say that..." Aaron taunts Scarlett.
"I can guarantee I'm a better tracker than you." She fires back.
"I don't think so...why haven't you found anything if you are so great." He says back with a playful smile.
"Tracking takes time and patience." She says. "You haven't found anything...why is that?" She asks him tilting her head side ways.
"Okay let's race to see who can find the best tracks. If I win, you have to give me your dessert. If you win I'll give you my dessert. Deal?" He challenges her.
She looks at him and nods her head.
"Okay, I agree to that." She says back.
"Okay start now..."Aaron runs further into the forest.
Scarlett runs off too but is quickly pulled back until she is standing next to me. The group laughs at the situation.
"I forgot about this stupid thing" she gestures to her wrist.
"You are going to slow me down, Ares." She is very frustrated. She grabs my hand and pulls me through the forest.
"I am not losing to him...walk faster." She says rushing us forward."Okay, don't break my hand" I say...watching her loosen her grip a bit.
She is bossy.
Time goes by and we haven't found anything good yet. She squeezes my hand every time we speed up and she leads me past trees and shrubs.
"I found something!" After three hours in this forest Aaron shouts back to us.
We all run to where he is. The group gathers round Aaron and we look at the ground."Those are bear tracks" Scarlett laughs and he looks down again. He sees his mistake and goes to Kristen. " She is so mean to me" he tells her and pouts.
"Oh stop being a cry baby." She makes fun of him. She smiles, but stops and looks up at the sky. It's painted orange, the sun is setting.
She turns toward the sun and stares at it in awe." Why are you so focused on the sunset." Klaus asks Scarlett, leaning on a tree.
"Isn't it absolutely stunning..."
"Sunsets were me and my brothers thing." She smiles as if lost in her memories.
"You have siblings, do tell..." Aaron says staring at the sunset.
"I had a brother...his name was Elijah" she smiles sadly.
Had...
Was...
"He passed away last year." She looks down at her feet.
"When he died, he said he would come back as a sunset." She says softly.
"Scarlett, I am so sorry." Aaron apologizes. She looks at him and smiles.
"It's ok. You didn't know." She moves to sit on a large rock
I go and sit next to her...
The group sits down with us and we watch the sun go down.
It really is breathtaking...
