In the middle of the night, I jolted up, my breath having gone quick. Really quick.
A nightmare. Amazing.

I looked out to see the night-sky pitch black, not one star daring to show.
I quickly sat up straight.

"Elany? What's wrong, love?" I heard a sleepy voice from beside me.
Asha.

I silently cursed at myself for waking him up this late.
I leaned down to him, planting a light kiss on top of his head. "Nothing, just a nightmare. I'm sorry I woke you" I whispered.

He moved to get into the same sitting position as me, all hint of sleepiness gone.
"Come here" He said quietly, wrapping both of his arms around me. He leaned us both against the headboard, my head disappearing into the crook of his neck with his fingers softly shooting trough the strands of my hair.

"You wake me up the next time you dream bad, okay?" He said after a while.
"I barely do anymore"
"Still" He continued.
"The next time you have a nightmare, you tell them to go away, or else I'm going to come for them, okay?"
I looked up to him. A slow grin spread on my lips.
"Okay" I nodded "I will"
"Good" He smiled.

He held me for what felt like half an hour; filled with whisperings of reassurance and his gentle touch against my skin when he kept caressing my cheek up and downwards.

His face was buried into my hair, his breaths having gotten slower and calmer with time passing.

While my face rested on his shoulder and my arm was draped over his stomach, both his arms had a fierce grip around me, hopefully never ever letting go.

"I love you, Asha" I whispered into the darkness.

Seconds passed. Moments did.
Then it felt like he almost suffocated me with how tight his grip of me got.
I let out a laugh when he started peppering my face full with little kisses.

"And I love you. So much. I love you, Elany. My Elany"
