Vacation. The greatest time of the year. Sun, clubs, wide nights, and the beach.
Wide nights and the beach.
Nights and beaches. For this summer, Asha and I had saved up for a long big dream of ours. A trip to italy. To the coast.
Dark it was at the very moment. Unbelievably dark with the so jet black sky surrounding us.
Without all these lights from the clubs and houses by the beach; I wondered.. how dark would it really be here? Right here and right now? I was sure the stars would not let the darkness take away their glow so easily, but would they be enough? Would they be able to illuminate parts of our world properly, for us to see?
Would the moon be enough, if it finally for once was even daring to show? I shook my head at these absurd but repeating thoughts. Overwhelming ones they were today.
Music echoed trough the area. So did laughter and chatter of all kinds of people around. Not that I was complaining. Not ever. Seeing people--even if strangers happy made me happy. Seeing them have fun. Live life. It constantly made me think about our ability to feel. The gift to feel.
Already from the sun cooled up grains of sand tickled my bare feet from beneath and my shoes swayed in my hand. Back and forward. Fresh wind blew my hair back, not annoying but refreshening, with my fingers intertwined with the man next to me I felt so achingly much for.
His head turned to me. I could perceive it from the corner of my eyes.
"You look like you're deep in thoughts, love."
"Oh, you should know better. When have I not been?"
The corner of his mouth curled up.
"Questioning everything?""Yes and no"
He lifted a brow"Questioning and admiring" I replied.
His strong arm came up behind my waist.
"Yet the most interesting thing is not the world itself, but you" He whispered against my cheek, pulling me against him.
I pulled Asha to a spot in the sand. Not a special one. Yet anyways beautiful, with the waves coming and leaving in front.
When having sat down in between Ashas legs, my back rested against him with both of his arms sneaked around me; one hand playing with strands of hair of mine.
"You smell good" He whispered into my hair.
"I smell like you"
"Exactly"He held me tighter against him, his body heat not letting me waste thoughts on the brushing wind around us getting cooler.
"Listen" I told him after a while.
We kept quiet for a moment."The waves?" He asked, sounding almost proud for figuring out.
"The waves" I confirmed, taking the shooting and calming tones of the water in again.
I practically studied them, when whispering: "They're so insanely beautiful"
"Hm" He agreed in a dark tone. "Absolutely stunning" he whispered afterwards.
But he wasn't looking at the waves like I was.
