Huelene stood speechless as Huey glanced at her in disbelief. Both of them were at a loss for words and actions. Huey had no intention of having a child. It's likely he had intercourse with other women, but who knows if the girl was mistaken for his daughter."What?" Huey asked, still perplexed. Huelene took another deep breath before saying, "My name is Huelene Freeman, and I believe I am your biological daughter," Huelene said emphatically.
Huey began to glare at Huelene and cross his arms, as he found it difficult to believe Huelene. He couldn't see her face because she was wrapped up, and she arrived out of nowhere in the pouring rain.
"I'm sorry, miss," Huey stated bluntly, "but I believe you have the wrong guy." Huelene was taken aback and glanced at him in surprise. "I am, in fact, your daughter," she countered, glaring at him. Giving off the same amount of energy as he did while he was glaring at her.
"No, I don't believe that," Huey countered, "because if I had a child with the women I slept with back then, I'm sure they would have notified me right away."
Huelene wanted to start crying because she was being denied by her own father. It's as if he wasn't taking any chances in getting to know her or seeing if she really was his daughter.
"Plus," Huey said, "I've only had kids with one woman." "Okay," Huelene retorted, "but you could have had children with another woman."
"I still find that hard to believe. But to make this easier on the both of us, I suggest you get back into your car and drive off of my property before I call the cops," Huey said giving Huelene a warning as she started to tear up.
"I have proof that you are my father in my hands. Huey Freeman, they were able to gather DNA and conduct a background check on you "Huelene expressed her displeasure with Huey. He didn't look as surprised as he had previously, which was a good sign. "Now, please let me inside so I don't catch a cold, and I'll show you these documents as proof," Huelene added, holding the paperwork out.
Huey had moved aside to allow Huelene to enter his home, and when she did, she was as taken aback by the inside as she had been by the outside. Living in an environment like this was so relaxing and comfortable. There was a fire in the fireplace, and it was so warm that it made her body feel good.
Huelene heard the door close behind her, and Huey had walked straight into his kitchen, right past her. She followed him to the kitchen, but instead sat in the stool at the counter, with all of her documents on the counter. Huey was watching her as she began to put it all out.
He'd noticed that she kept track of him from the day he was born till now. He was amazed by how much information she was able to get on him. She was even able to find information about him being a martial arts master.
She presented him with the DNA results, indicating that she is 99.9% his daughter. Huey had checked the paper to make sure he was Huelene's father. To him, the results were crystal clear. He raised his eyes to Huelene and began to study her face.
Huelene had the same skin tone, facial features, and hair texture as him, but she had one distinguishing feature: her eyes. That was the one distinguishing feature she had over him. Her eyes were green, while his were wine-colored. And he only knew one other person with green eyes like hers.
He thought of the person but it had to be impossible. There was no way that she and Huelene could be related. Especially if she had to have had her at a very young age.
"So?" Huelene asked waiting for a answer. "Are you going to say anything Dad," Huelene asked now getting impatient.
"Okay, I can see we're related, but to be sure, you don't have me confused with my younger brother Riley do you?" Huey asked to be sure.
"Oh God no, I've already met him and I just don't see it," Huelene said annoyed at the idea of being Riley's daughter.
"You met my brother already?" Huey questioned.
"Yeah, he's not the person who you should talk to in a serious manner," Huelene said sighing at recent conversations they both had.
"Believe me, I know," Huey mumbled making Huelene giggle a little bit. This showed her and Huey had one thing in common. They both didn't like Riley.
"So who else did you meet besides my brother?" Huey asked getting interested.
"Let's see, I met my grandparents, Aunt Cookie, my aunt and cousins, some of your close friends, and some racist black man that praises the white man," Huelene named.
"Okay, so you basically met almost everyone," Huey said as Huelene nodded: "Yep!"
"But that still doesn't explain who your mother is because I have no clue on who it can possibly be; along with your age," Huey said as Huelene but down on her lip.
"I'm 30 years old and my mother is Jazmine Dubois, I believe you've heard of her," Huelene said finally answering Huey's question as he was taken aback by her response.
"Jazmine Dubois?" Huey questioned to be sure.
"Yes, Jazmine Dubois, it says here on my birth certificate that she is my mother and you are my father, giving that I have your last name," Huelene said showing her birth certificate for Huey to view.
Huelene was correct; her birth certificate listed both his and Jazmine's names. Huelene was born on March 18th, 1992, making her 30 years old, according to the certificate.
Huey re-examined Huelene's features, noting that she resembled him in appearance but had Jazmine's eyes. Jazmine was the only person he knew with green eyes that he found attractive.
Huey couldn't believe he was the father of a girl he hadn't seen grow up for 30 years. He desperately wanted to cry, but he didn't want his daughter to see him cry. He went up to her and hugged her without warning.
Huelene had been stunned because she had never expected to get such affection from her father, whom she had been hunting for. Her yearning to meet him had finally come true, and she was now embraced by him in a warm hug.
Huey took a step back and then returned his gaze to her. Huey was heartbroken as he said, "I can't believe I missed all these years of not watching you grow up."
"I know!" Huelene replied, her eyes welling up with tears. Huey burst out laughing because Huelene reminded him of Jazmine when she sobbed.
It felt like another version of her standing right in front of him. Just like all those years ago.
Huey couldn't help himself to ask Huelene: "So what's going on with Jazmine?" He was more eager to hear about her throughout the years from Huelene until Huelene started to fiddle with her fingers and get nervous again
"Umm," Huelene started to mumble as she struggled to say the words.
"I'm sorry to inform you Huey, but Jazmine passed away a long time ago," Huelene sadly informed Huey leaving him in a shocked state.
"What?" he said with his voice cracking.
