"What?" Huey said with his voice cracking. It's as if a bullet had been shot at him.

Huelene had felt bad about informing Huey of Jazmine's death. Hearing it was painful at first, but she was able to deal with it. He'll be able to cope with her death, too.

Huey was on the verge of crying, but he couldn't do it in front of his daughter. He didn't want her to see him hurt. So he held back the cries and screams he so wanted to let out and simply nodded.

"If it's okay with you, I'd like to know when she died?" Huey inquired, impatiently waiting for a response. "She died roughly a year after I was born, according to her records," Huelene informed him.

Huey murmured to himself, "So she died at the age of 20."

"Yeah, how did you know?" Huelene asked, surprised. She didn't think Huey would know any of this stuff, but he was being serious about trying to put some pieces together.

"Because Jazmine left me when we were both 18, she must have given birth to you when she was 19, and if she died a year after you were born, she had to be at least 20 years old," Huey calculated.

"So, did you know my mother, or were you two sneaky links?" Huelene asked, waiting for Huey's response as he frowned at her. Huey glared at Huelene, "No, we were nothing like that." He didn't appreciate how she assumed he and Jazmine were just fucking around with each other.

In his case it was disrespectful, but he could understand where she was coming from.

"Were you guys close friends, boyfriend, and girlfriend, or were you coworkers?" Huelene persisted in her questioning, which irritated Huey even more. He would have kicked her out of his house if she wasn't his daughter at this point. When people started talking about him and Jazmine's relationship, he became quite agitated.

"As a matter of fact, Jazmine was my fiance," he said finally answering Huelene's question.

"Really; you two were going to get married?" Huelene asked in awe.

"Yes, that is literally what I just implied," Huey said having to repeat himself.

"Ok, I'm sorry, but what I would like to know is, what was she like, what were you like, how did you guys get together, what led up to you proposing, and what led to you parting ways?" Huelene piled up with so many questions.

"I'm sorry if I'm being too forward with this, but I just want to know. All my life nobody has ever answered my questions on where I came from and what my parents were like. But now that I'm in front of you, you can answer those questions for me," Huelene exclaimed.

He felt bad that she was filled with lack of information about him and Jazmine. He knew how it felt but at the same time he didn't.

He grew up knowing his parents but as Huey got older he started to slowly forget them. Him, Riley, and his Grandad never brought up the topic of them.

All knew by heart was they were good people.

And it hurt to know that his memories of them were lacking. So he decided to be a good hearted person and tell Huelene everything. She deserved to know more about him and Jazmine and what led up to this.

And he knew that he deserved to know what happened to Jazmine. Maybe Huelene had a background check on Jazmine that could answer his questions.

Because Huey was just as confused and curious as Huelene was. He didn't expect to have to have a child with Jazmine.

Back then they planned on having one for the future when they had everything together. But Huey thought it was kind of fucked up that she never told him about Huelene or her sickness.

He didn't know why Jazmine would want to keep something like that from him. But maybe as he tells Huelene about him and Jazmine he can retrace the steps and see where things went left.

"For starters with how you got it it was because of sex," Huey boldly said as Huelene frowned upon him.

"I already know how I got here, I just want you to tell me about you and my mom, so I can find some type of connection here. Because again, nobody won't fill me in on what happened between the two of you. Not even my two moms which irritates the fuck out of me," Huelene spoke, building up with frustration.

"Your two moms?" Huey questioned.

"Oh, yes, my two moms; I was adopted by two women when I was born. From their perspective, with the little time Jazmine had to live, they said that she was pretty close to them, and they about everything about her," Huelene explained.

"Everything, as in they know about her sickness and the reason she left me?" Huey asked, upset.

"Most likely!" Huelene nervously spoke. She could tell Huey was a bit upset.

"Wait, she left you?" Huelene asked, perplexed by this sudden news.

"Yes, she left me, I thought you had caught on to it," Huey assumed.

"Not really, I figured you two had either broke up with each other or you left her," Huelene assumed.

"No, I had never wanted to leave Jazmine, that was nowhere near my intentions. Jazmine had left me and I don't know why," Huey said, hurt at the spoken words.

He still didn't know till this day why Jazmine left him. Was he being a bad fiancé, stressful job, lack of money, politics, school, having the idea that he didn't want Huelene, or her sickness, it had to be something.

He surely didn't like how Huelene's adoptive parents kept all this a secret from her, him, and the family.

Either one of them should have known about Jazmine's sickness or the day she died.

"But my question is why did your moms keep this all a secret? Something like that should never be kept a secret, especially when they know she has people back home that we're worried sick about her," Huey angrily spoke.

"I don't know why they would keep something like this a secret. I asked them myself and they said they had to respect her wishes. They even paid for her hospital and funeral bill, which I thought was nice of them, but they should have told somebody," Huelene said agreeing with Huey.

Huey had shook his head at the lack of respect from Huelene's two moms. He understood it, but at the same time he didn't like how they didn't feel Huelene in on none of this.

But since they would also be the key to why Jazmine did what she did he had to get information from them too.

"If you don't mind, I would like to have your two moms phone numbers?" Huey simply requested as Huelene felt uneasy about that question.

"Huey I don't feel comfortable doing that," Huelene truthfully spoke.

"Huelene, you and I both deserve to know what happened to Jazmine. I think it will be appropriate for us to ask them and recover some of Jazmine's hospital records," Huey sternly spoke.

Huelene knew Huey was right because they both did deserve to know about Jazmine. Huelene knew that she was Jazmine's daughter and she wanted answers, but Huey was Jazmine's lover/fiancé, and definitely deserved to know because at the end of the day it left him with a broken heart.

She could see that Huey was hurt from all of this and he just wanted answers like she did.

"Okay, I call them and ask to get full permission from them, so you can talk to them," Huelene assured him.

"Thank you!" Huey said a bit relieved that he possibly might get some answers.

"But I still want answers about you and my mother. I want you to start from the beginning on how this all came to be," Huelene spoke as Huey sighed.

"Go take a seat," Huey spoke as Huelene was excited that she will finally get answers.
