In the afternoon...

I recognized Leilani's straight black hair and put on a smile. "Hey, Lei."

She turns around, flashing her green eyes.

Her bangs flopped in her face but return bouncing on top of her thin eyebrows as her smile turns big.

"Justin!" She hugged me, her nails pressed against my back. "I'm SO glad that you could make it!"

I nod. "Me too."

I look at Anthony, then at Leilani. Then, I couldn't help but smile. "So... you two got hooked up?"

Leilani turns to Anthony quickly. "Ooh!! Can I tell?"

"Tell me about what?" I ask.

Antony nods. "Yeah, you can."

I fold my arms, waiting to hear about what my excited friend has to say.

She blew up with excitement like a balloon as she collects her breath, then she yelled out. "I'm engaged!!" Leilani shoved her hand at my face.

I look upon her hand where a shiny 14-karat diamond stuck on her ring.

"Oh my gosh! That's great!! When are you getting married?"

"At the beach! I planned it there with Anthony."

I snort. "I figured you two would be such a sweet couple, I mean, heh."

"So... what about you and Julia? You two getting wedding plans as well? Or is it too early for that?" She asks, laughing with Anthony.

I chuckled. "Right, right. Uh... I uh..."

Leilani's face turned into a concerned look. "You okay, Justin? Say something." Her hand clenched onto my shoulder with a friendly touch.

I sighed. "This is gonna hurt, but... I cheated."

"Yo!! You what now??" Anthony shrieks.

"I didn't mean to. It's just... there was this girl in Julia's dorm, and..."

"And... you slept with Julia's roommate?" Anthony cuts me off.

I narrowed my eyes. "For the last time... I did NOT have sex with Taylor!!"

They looked at each other and blinked a couple of times. I realized their expressions. Uh-oh. "...So Taylor is Julia's roommate?" I sighed. "...Do you, like, have more connection to Taylor or do you need to stick with Julia?"

"I... Uh..."

Anthony snorts. "Taylor." I looked up. "I know."

I sighed. "Yeah... maybe..."

Maybe I do need to call her...
