When The Party Ends In Murder

Chapter one: Storm

A young couple walks towards the harbor. They step over the puddles quickly so they won't be late for the boat.

[Noah] Why do you always insist on walking in the rain even though we have a car?
[Kaylie] I like the rain. It calms me down.

Noah holds on to the umbrella tightly so it won't fly away in the wind.

[Noah] Your clothes are gonna get all wet and you are supposed to perform at my mother's party!
[Kaylie] Oh come on, it's not that big of a deal, also, these aren't the clothes I'm gonna wear for the performance!
[Noah] All my mother's friends, colleagues, and other well known people in the area are invited to this party! It's also your first singing performance! So yes it's a big deal!
[Kaylie] Yeah yeah I know! Don't make me nervous, I can't perform if I'm stressed out.

Kaylie pushes Noah playfully and they walk faster towards the harbor.

An old man walks along the street that leads to the harbor.

[Matt] Oh God, I'm gonna be late! I can't be late for the boat, I can't miss one of Lucia's parties again! Especially since I haven't seen her in so long..

Matt writes something in his notebook as he walks past the kiosk.

[kiosk owner] You here to buy the newspaper? [Matt] Again Todd? You confuse me again with my brother, and he doesn't buy the newspaper anymore either. [kiosk owner] Right right, you were Matt Jansson, not Elias Jansson.

Matt sighs and continues walking. Then, woman in a fur coat and sunglasses walks past him. Matt notices her.

[Matt] Pamela Karlsson? Is that you?
[Pamela] Matt Jansson! I haven't seen you since the 90's! Why have you missed so many of my sister's parties?
[Matt] I don't always have time to spend a day partying at a friend's mansion..
[Pamela] Oh yeah, you were a writer! Of course you don't always have time, oh silly me, I completely forgot..
[Matt] That's right, that's right .. Work is going "real good"..

They walk to the pier where they find Lana and Peter Vega and Katarina Rossi. Noah and Kaylie arrive right after them.

[Pamela] Noah! My dear nephew! And Karmen Couture!
[Kaylie] Kaylie .. just say Kaylie.
[Pamela] ok, Kaylie!
[Lana] When is this boat leaving?
[Kaylie] We'll leave when everyone is on board..

Kaylie sighs and stares elsewhere. That's when a limousine arrives in front of the pier and a young woman called Lin Stone steps out.

[Lin] Well so world! Wait, where is my private boat? Oh, I have to go.. with these people .. well, I guess Lucia has become cheap when she hasn't didn't even book me my own motorboat.
[Kaylie] Oh come on, it takes 30 minutes to get to the island, calm down.
[Katarina] Will the others come soon?
[Peter] Probably.

A few more passengers enter the boat, introducing themselves as Katjana, Michael, Pete and Mr. Smith. The boat leaves and passengers admire the scenery quietly while Matt is just looking at his notebook. He's thinking.

{Matt's thoughts} I can't even make a biography, in my youth I smoked and I didn't care about life, nothing I should proudly display to people, but I have no money and I can't afford rent.. I need to write a book about something or I'll be living on the streets!
{Kaylie's thoughts} I couldn't care less about these snobs, they don't think of anything other than themselves..

Matt looks at the sky.
[Matt] Storm clouds are starting to appear in the sky.
[Katarina] I hope we don't get stuck on the island, I have a show tomorrow night!

Everyone agrees, no one wants to get stuck on the island. They have no idea what's waiting for them..
