At a hospital...
Third Person's POV
Hinata was sitting on a chair next to a hospital bed, her eyes fixed on the unconscious Takemichi. There was a wire stuck on his wrist. The wire was connected to the IV bag stand.
Knocking on the door snapped her out of her trance of thoughts. Hinata wiped away her tears and said, "Come in." in a small voice. She could barely speak after crying profusely.
Two men entered the wardroom-- Ken and Naoto. They happened to run into each other. Both hurried to the hospital after Hinata informed them of Takemichi's condition.
"Nee-san..." Naoto sympathized with his older sister. Hinata stood up and approached the two males. She started sobbing when Naoto gestured her into a comforting hug.
"Hina-chan, what happened to Takemitchy?" Ken asked. He got unusually worried after being told Takemichi suddenly passed out and hadn't woken up since then.
"The doctor said Takemichi was in coma.."
"Coma?"
"He isn't alive but he isn't dead either. It is like his body has become an empty shell. So the doctor concluded he is currently in coma.."
Hinata sobbed louder upon recalling everything the doctor said. Naoto was taken aback. He whipped his head to Takemichi and stared at him.
"Oh, God... This condition.." Naoto didn't want to believe in his own theory. But it was the only theory that made sense.
"What's wrong, Naoto?" Ken was bewildered by his sudden change of demeanor. Naoto turned to the older adults back, his face written with concern.
"His condition is similar to that time...he used to time travel into the past." Naoto exclaimed, which of course, came out as a shock for Hinata and Ken.
Naoto wasn't hesitant to tell them about Takemichi's time-leaping ability as they had acknowledged it beforehand.
"What- Are you saying he travelled back to the past?!" Ken could hardly believe of the thing he just heard. Even Hinata still had some doubts. Why would Takemichi travel back to the past when they finally lived in a peaceful, happy future?
"I'm afraid that is true. His body became an empty shell when his consciousness went back to the past. And currently, he is experiencing the same thing again." Naoto gritted his teeth.
Someone else had become the trigger to Takemichi's ability, replacing Naoto.
"Will he come back, Naoto?" Hinata asked in desperation. She didn't think she could accept the reality of not being able to meet Takemichi again.
Naoto looked at his older sister. Her eyes were glistening with strong hope. Yet he didn't have the answer she wanted. He himself was unsure...
"As long as the trigger is alive, he can return to the present time. We can only wait and see how this turns out.." Naoto reassured. He patted Hinata's shoulder.
