Chifuyu's pet shop...

Third Person's POV

Kazutora went to feed the animals. Hinata tagged along to watch the man working. She appeared really excited as he poured food into their bowls. Meanwhile, Chifuyu waited at the cashier counter, in case a customer walk in. Takemichi was facing him, sweat rolling down the side of his face.

"I'm confused.." Takemichi whined. Chifuyu sighed in defeat. His partner wasn't the only person who was drowning in bafflement.

"You are not the only one, Takemitchy. So weird that she knew your name when you guys had never met each other." Chifuyu recalled the bizarre occurence taking place at Sugoaku.

"... actually, Chifuyu. Before that woman arrived... I kinda sensed a peculiar presence. And right after I felt that, (Y/n) barged into the shop. I was drawn to look at her- like, she was some sort of magnet force pulling me." Takemichi hesitantly explained his side of story.

Chifuyu spaced out for several seconds and a speculation popped up. "Do you think she has special ability like you? Maybe that is why you felt drawn to her?"

The time-leaper widened his eyes in realization. "She could be! Damn, Chifuyu. I don't know you can be so smart!" Takemichi patted his partner's shoulder proudly.

Chifuyu didn't buy the compliment. "Do I look dumb to you, huh, Takemitchy?"

Takemichi nodded his head without any reluctance. He never tried to hide the fact he did think of Chifuyu as a dumbass.

The pet shop owner smacked his friend's shoulder with a little force. Takemichi gasped, rubbing the spot Chifuyu hit.

"Anyway," Chifuyu cleared his throat, "I was quite surprised that Mikey...had told you about (Y/n) before. What did he say about her?"

Takemichi was taken aback by that question. His mind started replaying the memory relating to the current topic of the conversation. The memory of 12 years ago.

"You had a girlfriend?!" Takemichi shouted in surprise at Manjiro. He always viewed that Toman leader as a charismatic person who only cared about his friends, family and delinquent world. After all, the older teenager never showed interest in romantic relationship.

"Yeah. I couldn't help but remembered her everytime I saw you and Hina together. It just reminded me of my days with her." Manjiro reminisced. A painful smile plastered on his face.

Takemichi hummed in awe. He was curious of Manjiro's love life. "But why you guys aren't together anymore? Did you break up with her?"

"...We didn't break up... She is currently ill and has been staying in hospital for two years now." The sadness dripping in his soft voice was obvious. Takemichi felt bad for asking. The younger teenager didn't have the heart to ask what kind of illness.
