Chapter 9

~ Joe's P.O.V ~
"Ava? Has anyone seen Ava?" I ran around my apartment, yelling at the top of my lungs. "Dan, Phil, you were with her last right?"
"I dunno mate, we were kinda busy talking, we didn't really notice." said Dan.
"Are you serious? How could you not pay attention to her she's amazing!"
I sat on the floor and started to rock back and forth, almost in tears. Suddenly I heard a knock on the door.
"I'll get it Joe" said Niomi, and she opened the door to reveal...
"AVA OH MY GOD WHERE WERE YOU?!"
Ava ran towards me and hugged me so tight I could barely breathe. When she pulled away, I could see that her face was pale and she had red fingerprint marks on her left wrist.
"Can I talk to you love?" I whispered in Ava's ear.
She nodded silently, tears welling up in her eyes.
"Guys we're just going downstairs for a sec okay?" I said to everyone. "We'll be back in a second"
I guided Ava gently towards the stairs, my hand just on the small of her back.
When we got to my room, I led Ava onto my bed and shut the door before sitting beside her.
"Ava are you okay?"
She shook her head.
"Have any of my friends said anything?"
She shook her head again.
"Has anyone else?"
Ava paused in thought, then shook it slowly.
"Do you want to come back up to the party?"
She shook her head once more.
"Ok, here. Let's get your shoes off."
I took off her black vans and tucked her under the covers of my bed.
"Try and take a nap. It always makes me feel better."
Ava snuggled down and managed a weak smile.
"Thanks Joe."
I smiled back and planted a soft kiss on her forehead.
