Chapter 6

"Anyway Alfie, what did you want to say?"
"Oh yeah!" Alfie pulled me into a room and stood in front of me.
"Okay" he whispered "I'm going to propose to Zoe, and I want your opinion on the ring"
I stood in shock as Alfie pulled out this gorgeous rose gold ring with orange gems in it.
"Alfie, it's beautiful, Zoe will love it! Have you told Joe?"
"Not yet, I'm going to though"
Joe burst into the room. He glanced up and I saw his face fall.
"WHAT is going on?" He whispered, obviously annoyed.
"Nothing Joe, I needed to talk to Ava a second" said Alfie, trying to keep his voice down so Zoe wouldn't hear.
"SO WHAT WAS GOING ON? IT LOOKED LIKE YOU TWO WERE GETTING PRETTY COZY" Joe screamed.
"SHUT UP, no we were not. I was telling Ava that I'm planning to propose to Zoe soon!"
We both waited, expecting Joe to understand and to not say anymore about it. Suddenly, he pushed Alfie hard in the chest, grabbed my wrist and pulled me out the door into the street.
"Joe what the hell was that?" I asked, trying to keep calm but quite nervous over Sean & how Joe just reacted.
"I thought you two were kissing or something! I thought...I thought" he leaned his head against my shoulder and proceeded to cry hot tears that dripped onto my shirt. About 10 seconds later, he straightened up, wiped his face and looked at me.
"Ava"
"Yes, Joseph?"
"Sorry about that. I guess I might have overreacted a bit"
"Maybe a bit" I said laughing.
"I can get really overprotective over girls I like and..." he covered his mouth with his hands and blushed bright red.
"You...like me?" I said, quite surprised.
Joe let a long nervous sigh out.
"Yeah"
