Chapter 15

"Ava? Ava, wake up hun."

Joe was leaning over me, with a bleeding nose and a few scratches on his left cheek.

"Oh my god Joe!" I jumped up, and ran to the bathroom to get a washcloth. I wet it with hot water and went back into the living room. Joe was sitting on the sofa, waiting.

I kneeled in front of him, and started dabbing at his bloody nose with the washcloth. He winced.

"That hurts. It feels like your peeling the skin off my face."

I shook my head at him. "I'm washing the blood away, stop being so dramatic."

Joe grinned. "Sorry Miss Grumpy Pants."

I looked up into his beautiful blue eyes.

"Joe." I whispered.

"Yeah."

"Thankyou for saving me, and, for what it's worth..." I took a deep breath.

"I'msorryforeverythingandImissyoulots."

Joe's face lightened up, as if he was a child walking into a sweet shop.

"I missed you lots too, I'm sorry for following you that day. It was wrong of me and I should have trusted you."

I smiled at him, and he leaned into me and placed a small, sweet, nervous kiss on my lips.

I giggled. "I missed that the most though."

Joe stuck his bottom lip out and pretended to cry.

"Aw, don't worry. I love everything about you." and I kissed him again.

"You love everything about me?" Joe wiggled his eyebrows at me, smirking.

I sighed and rolled my eyes. Joe laughed and as he leaned in to kiss me again, we heard a small cough in the doorway.

"Sorry for interrupting, but the police are here to talk to Ava." Zoe said.

"I'll wait outside then." Joe smiled at me and got up to walk out the door but I grabbed his hand.

"No, I want you here."

* An hour later *

"Ava, some clothes are in the spare room for your pyjamas." Zoe yelled from her room.

"Okay, thank youuu!" I yelled back. I suddenly thought of something. I walked across the hall into Zoe's room.

"Zoe, where's Alfie?"

"Oh, he's in New York doing some shopping."

"Oh okay. Goodnight Zo."

I walked into my room and took off my clothes so I was standing in my underwear.

"Ava, could I..." Joe walked into my room and stopped.

"Wow." He stared at me and looked me up and down.

"Joeeeee!"

"Sorry, sorry. I'll come back in a minute."

"No Joe, wait. You can stay."

Joe jumped on the bed and put his hands behind his head. I put the shirt on and crawled into bed beside him.

"What did you come in for?"

"Oh, I wanted to ask if you would live with me."

I looked at him to see if he was serious. "Really?"

"Yeah." He smiled at me and I could see the hope in his eyes.

"Then yes!" I jumped on him and hugged him tight.

"I'm so pleased." Joe smiled and hugged me back.
