So my odds of Grace showing up at this stupid film festival was about 10%. In those 10%, she was there, at the film festival, and starred in one of the films. What the heck? I just wanted a night out with my girlfriend. Well now I had to get some explaining from my ex.
I decided I would talk to her during the intermission. I found her standing with the director of one of the films.
"Grace, may I speak with you?"
"Of course." She turned to the director, whispered something and I left Haley with the director.
"What are you doing here?!" We both said one out of earshot of, well everyone.
"You first." I said.
"I was in a film. Plus I kinda live in New York temporarily. You however are supposed to be 2,000 miles away in Michigan!"
"My girlfriend had 2 tickets and wanted me to come with her."
"That's the girlfriend?"
"Why do you sound so surprised? Why were you hanging around that director?"
"That director just so happens to be my boyfriend."
"No wonder you got the part!"
"Well what's that supposed to mean?! That I'm a bad actress?! Last I remember, you called me the best actress you have ever seen!!"
"You weren't very good in this one!!! You got the part because the director can't take his eyes off of you."
"If you were just going to criticize my acting skills then why did you call me over here? I was perfectly happy getting compliments on my amazing acting."
"I called you over because I wanted to talk to you!"
"Then talk and stop yelling at me!!"
She was starting to get mad at me. I was getting mad too, but for some reason I just couldn't will myself to be as mad as her. Instead I did the last thing I thought I would do.
