What was wrong with me?! One minutes I'm screaming and the next I'm all shut up, doing the opposite. I stood there unsure of what to do.
Eventually, I stepped away from Colt, which took all of my willpower to do. "Colt, we broke up!"
"I-I..."
I couldn't believe him. I did the only thing I knew to do. I walked away to find Barrett.
The festival resumed about 5 minutes later.
What the heck just happened?!
Why did that happen?!
I was going crazy, I knew it. I didn't even realize that the crowd was giving a standing ovation to Barrett, who had just won the biggest director's event ever known.

That night, I laid in bed thinking about tonight, replaying every single moment. I couldn't believe that Colt had just kissed me. He had a girlfriend that wasn't me and he knew I had a boyfriend that wasn't him.The thing that was keeping me up was that I couldn't tell if I wished that didn't happen. I could still feel Colt's lips against mine and how it felt, the sensation that went through my body as he leaned in towards me.
What was wrong with me?
At midnight, I was still wide awake. My phone buzzed next me.
Colt: Meet me outside
I grabbed my hoodie and pulled on a pair of jeans. After slipping on flip flops I met Colt outside.
"Colt! It's midnight!"
"Why'd you come outside then?"
I gave him a look. "Why'd you call me out here?"
"I wanted to talk to you."
"Last time you wanted to talk you kissed me."
"This-"
"You know what? I have a boyfriend and you have a girlfriend. Besides, my classes resume tomorrow and I need to get some sleep."
"Grace, I didn't know it before but I missed you, a lot."
"Colt, I really need to-" I tried running away, but he grabbed my arm. I tried pulling but he was just too strong.
"Grace just listen. Please."
"10 minutes."
"That's more than enough time."
"Time's running out."
"Fine, fine. Grace, I love you. I don't want to spend another second without you."
"Where is this going?" I was screaming and I was suddenly feeling tired.
"Gracie, I-"
I couldn't take it anymore. I pulled away with every last bit of energy and ran back to my dorm. I cried myself to sleep.

It was me and Colt. Just like old times. His figure shifted into Barrett's. I was happier then.Wake up! I told myself. This is a dream!
Barrett shifted back to Colt. Then back to Barrett. This wasn't a dream. It was a nightmare.
