"Hi Alice!" Colt dropped me off back at the college grounds at 11:30 that morning. He was meeting a friend up at some hangout.
"Hey Grace! You're here pretty early."
"Colt dropped me off at 11:30. What's the plan for tonight?"
"Colt? And I'm not totally sure. We should do some research."
"Oh I never told you. Colt's my boyfriend."
"Is he cute? Does he have a friend? Or a brother?!" This was going to be an odd roommate, I could tell.
"I guess. Yes, he's actually meeting up with him right now. And yes but he's taken."
"Ask him to bring the friend!"
Eh boy...
I finished my unpacking and organizing and now all I had to do was help Alice. She was almost completely clueless on "how the heck I did it". After helping her and her craziness of junk, (She had a mini-fridge! Why?!?! It was pretty sweet though...) we looked at some things to do in New York that wouldn't put us in jail.
"There isn't much stuff I can I think about." I said.
"I'm thinking of a lot of things. All of which would either kill us or send us to jail. It's an even scale here."
"I'll call Colt. He always has good ideas."
As I walked out of our dorm, Alice yelled, "Don't forget to ask about the friend!"
It rang once, twice, three times until he finally answered. "Hey, something wrong?"
"No no, everything's fine, pretty awesome actually. Me and Alice just didn't know what we could do tonight. Any ideas?"
"I'm sure I can find us a place to hang out. Can my buddy Tristan come along?"
"Actually, Alice wanted to meet your friend. So that works out perfectly." I heard a crash in the background. Uh-oh.
He laughed then said, "I'll pick you up at 6:00. Gotta go." And hung up.
"What was that all about?" I said that too loudly I think. Some people turned around to stare at me. I walked back inside and told Alice the plan.
"6:00?!?! That's only three hours from now! C'mon, let's start getting ready!"
"Three hours Alice. Three! We have plenty of time."
What I said couldn't change her mind. She was already running around the tiny room saying things to herself. "What am I going to wear?... Mini spa time... Hair and makeup?..."
What? We're probably going to like a club or something, not to see the President!
It was 5:00 PM and I was already showered and pampered on account of Alice. We still didn't know what we were doing so we just got ready like any other day. Alice packed some extra makeup to make it look more night time if it was needed.
"Alice, what are you wearing?"
"Mini skirt, blouse, stilettos. Why?"
"I'm totally clueless right now. Help?"
She squealed and I immediately felt like backing out.
Not too bad. I didn't look like one of those super models who thought they were better than everyone else because they were. I just looked pretty.
I wore a pair of black skinny jeans, a bright red blouse with a black infinity scarf, and black gladiator heels that I borrowed from Alice. I looked like I was 22.
I curled my hair and pulled it back to where it looked like a princess. I had on the usual foundation, concealer, powder, and mascara. Alice helped me figure out how to do a simple smokey eye and I would apply eyeliner if I needed to. For my lips I just applied some light pink lipstick. Alice wanted me to do red but I wasn't exactly up for that.
Colt arrived at 6:00 sharp with his friend Tristan. "So where are we going?" I finally asked.
Ugh, I should've just stuck with flats.
"Ask Tristan. He's driving."
"Tristan?"
"You'll see."
"She hates surprises so don't be surprised if she claws at you until you tell her." Colt warned.
"You know, he's not wrong..."
"I'll remember that next time." I almost forgot that Alice was in the car. She rode up front with Tristan with me and Colt in the back.
