Bearing The Heir

Chapter 36

Andrew (pov)

  I wake up to a dry mouth and my whole body aching. I notice my belly is much flatter and start to freak out. Theo grabs my hand. It is ok he says. You had the babies.

  Five healthy beautiful babies. Wait five I ask? Yes one tiny one was hiding. Alexia and your mom are currently taking blood samples to do the paternity tests. 

  As soon as they are done we will bring them over to you. I start to cry from exhaustion and happiness and worry. I look around we are still in the panic room and there is no sign of Tristan. 

  Theo props a pillow behind me so I can sit up a little better. They all go and grab a baby and bring them towards me. My mom hands me the tiniest one. She then goes to grab the last one.  As she is walking back to me the door slams open and Tristan runs in.

  He is out of breath, sweating covered in soot and blood dried on his shoulder. We all look toward him and start crying. He looks at me.  I thought I lost you.

  Where are the babies. They are all healthy. Baby one is a boy. Baby two is a girl. Baby three is a girl. Baby four is a boy. Baby five is a girl my mom tells us all. I am so happy my mates and my babies are all healthy.

  Tristan said we won for now. We know that no matter what others will come after the heir of the prophecy. My mom said she should have the paternity test results for us tomorrow. We decided we will finalize the names when we know the results. 

  Tristan said the cabin will need rebuilt.  For tonight we are all staying in the panic room. Since the fire did not destroy it, thankfully. 

  The next day mom tells us the paternity results.  Baby one is fathered by Tristan and Theo. He has dark brown hair with blue eyes. We named him Axel Reece.

  Baby number two was fathered by Tobalt and Tristan. She has black hair with blue eyes. We named her Alessandra Quinn.

  Baby number three is fathered by all of us and is the Heir of the prophecy. She has white hair with black tips and hazel eyes. We named her Cassandra Eden.  

  Baby number four is fathered by Theo and Tobalt. He has black hair and brown eyes. We named him Austin Jacoby.

  Baby number five was fathered by just Tobalt. She has dusty brown hair with green eyes. We named her Aria Genevieve. They are all beautiful and we are so blessed.

Alexia (pov)

  I was nervous when Andrew went into labor. I did not know what to expect.  I knew I needed to step up. Yes I am supposed to protect and guide the heir. I am going to help them all any way I can.

  We found out Cassandra the third born is the one out of the prophecy. Andrew and his mates decided that no matter how many children they have and no matter whose they are. They will all be raised the same.

  They do not want to favor or protect one more than another. They want them all to be trained and raised to be strong, smart confident children. This way they will all be prepared to step up and protect theirselves and everyone else when the Great War is at their door.

  No matter who is supposed to lead they will all be ready. I could not agree more. This way others do not notice one being favored. That would put a bigger target on the heirs back.
