Meanwhile, on the other side of the ballroom, Daisy has trailed outside. She glanced around at all of the people, trying to pick out any person who could possibly be the count. Daisy was growing more annoyed by the minute, crossing her arms in a huff.

"Maybe I should've had Luigi look for that count with me," Daisy muttered. "I should try and ask around."

Daisy placed a hand on the nearest person's shoulder to grab their attention.

"Hey, have you seen the count anywhere?" Daisy asked.

The person hummed in response and turned around to face Daisy, revealing to be of all the people Princess - or rather Queen - Peach. Peach gasped with a smile, clapping her hands together.

"Daisy! Oh my Grambi, I haven't seen you face to face since your wedding day!" Peach exclaimed with a laugh. "Fancy meeting you here after so long!"

Daisy laughed in response, returning a smile to Peach.

"It's definitely been a while, you look good!" Daisy said.

Peach hardly looked like she had aged. The only difference in the former princess's appearance was the more lavish crown for a queen of her stature and barely noticeable bags under her eyes.

"You do too! I can't believe that we're seeing each other at a place like this!" Peach laughed. "How's Luigi and your son Albert?"

"Eh, they're both doing alright. Albert's going to be twenty tomorrow, after all." Daisy replied, "Hey, where's your kid? Edd, was it?"

Peach nodded in reply.

"Mario and I have Toadsworth watching little Edd while we're out and about," Peach said with a smile.

Daisy hummed in response, bobbing her head in a nod.

"So, Mario's here too, I can assume?" Daisy replied with a flat tone.

As if on cue, Mario walked over to Peach with a smile, taking her hand as he didn't even turn or notice Daisy. He pecked Peach on the cheek, earning a giggle from her.

"There you are, Peach. I tried looking for the host but couldn't find him," Mario stated.

"Mario, look who I found!" Peach cheered.

Mario hummed in response and glanced over to see Daisy. A blank expression swept over the man in red's face.

"Daisy," Mario said in acknowledgment.

"Mario," Daisy responded, crossing her arms.

The two of them remained simply staring emptily at each other, with Peach ignorant of the silent argument that was being exchanged by their sharp gazes alone. The tension was cut when someone behind them all cleared their throat. The three of them all turned their gazes and their eyes widened, surprised to see a man in lavish attire with almost white skin.

"Good late evening to you all, madames and monsieur." The man smiled. "I apologize for keeping you waiting, but quite a few guests have attended and I've been a tad overwhelmed with the turnout, ah ha ha."

Their suspicions were indeed confirmed, this was the count that had been the hot topic on everyone's mind.

"So... You're the count who owns this place?" Mario asked.

"Correct, I have only just moved in. I do hope to redecorate," he chuckled.

Daisy hummed as she looked him over.

"What brings you Sarasaland then, count?" Daisy questioned. "I've never even heard of you until now."

"Ah, the queen of this kingdom! How nice of you to come here..." the count said while stooping into a bow with a grin on his face. "I'm simply here because I've received a formal invitation from your son, Albert, to attend his celebration on tomorrow's eve! He simply insisted that I came after I found him in the clutches of kidnappers..."
