Chapter 3.1: Preparations

There were 2 weeks left before the Mid-Exam.

I was currently lying in my bed. It was 8 PM.

Satou had invited me to a group chat consisting of all the students from our class.

She had also invited me to another group chat, this time it was a group for all the first years. There were already 138 members on it.

A notification suddenly popped up from my class group. It was from Hirata.

Hirata: "Everyone, can we all stay after school tomorrow for a while? I've been planning to create a study group for our Mid Exams, some people from the other classes are also coming."

Karuizawa: "I'm fine with it!"

That was fast. Some girls also followed Karuizawa and replied.

Horikita: "Sorry, but I'm not interested."

Ike: "Yeah, why would I join your study group?"

Kushida: "Horikita-San, Ike-Kun, I think we should try to help each other. That way, everyone would be able to get good grades! The more the merrier, right?"

Ike: "Actually, on second thought..."

The conversation then went on for a few more minutes. Horikita eventually got convinced into joining the study group. I decided not to say anything.

The clock on my phone was showing 8:47 PM. I wanted to play some Valorant, but I got banned for a week because apparently I was 'Cheating'.

I decided to go out of my room and get some fresh air. It was past curfew, and boys and girls weren't supposed to be in each other's room. I went to the elevator and pressed the button for the uppermost floor. The hallway was empty since at this time everyone was already in their rooms.

I bought an orange juice from a vending machine located just outside the elevator doors and went upstairs to the rooftop. As I opened the door, I could see the silhouette of two people. It looks like they were a couple, upon closer inspection, I immediately recognized the face of the boy. His name was Hashimoto from class A, he was kissing a girl from class C.

Hashimoto had blonde hair tied to a ponytail and a pair of blue eyes.

Earlier, Satou had told me that the first-year girls had made some sort of list about all the guys. Apparently, Hashimoto was considered to be the 3rd hottest guy in all of the first year. Hirata took 2nd place while I took 4th.

The moonlight was shining bright on their faces so it was pretty easy to see their faces. The girl had brown eyes and medium-length brown hair with one side tailed to the left going over her shoulders. I think her name was Nishino.

They noticed that the door was opened and turned their faces in my direction, abruptly ending their kiss. Fortunately for me, the place was quite dark and the moonlight was facing in their direction so my face should be well hidden.

Not wanting to disturb them anymore, I closed the door without saying a word and went downstairs.

The next day, after class ends

We were gathering at the library, it was quite packed since the second and third years were also present. There is also this unwritten rule that the senpais would get the better spots. So we were left with a spot located at the far end corner of the library.

There were about 60-70 students present, we were further divided into 3 groups since a table could only hold so many students. My group was led by a girl from class B named Ichinose. The other groups were led by Hirata and Kushdia.
