Chapter 2.3: Mid Exams

Today was May 1st

"What the hell? How'd I get only 4500 points!"

"Sigh...You really are a fool, aren't you?"

A few moments earlier

I was greeted with a ruckus upon entering the classroom.

"Yo Ayanokouji, how many points did you get?" Asked Sudou

"I think it's about 41.500 points."

"What? How the hell did you get more than 40.000!"

"Beats me."

"How much did you get, Sudou?"

"29.000. If it weren't for you, I'd have gotten way less. Thanks for your help back then, man."

"No problem, I'm sure you'd help me if I were under your shoes."

"Ha! I'm not that nice of a guy, you know?"

Ike and Yamauchi stormed into the classroom with a nervous look.

Back to present

"Sigh...You really are a fool, aren't you?" Chabasira-Sensei said, smiling mischievously

"7 Instances of late attendance, 12 Instances of using phones during class, 28 Instances of disturbing the class, and an attempt to peek at the girl's changing room. You're lucky your points don't drop down to zero. Seriously, how hopeless could you get?"

"Never once in this history of this school, someone has ever received less than 5.000 points on their first month, that just shows how much of a defect you are, Yamauchi"

Yamauchi could only stay silent, the entire class was staring at him, full of disgust.

Ike doesn't fare that much better, he had received 7.800 points that month.

The class then went silent for a few moments.

"I'm sure that most of you have a lot of questions to ask, so feel free to ask me."

"Sensei is it possible to gain points other than from our grades?" Asked Hirata, I'm sure everyone else is also asking the same questions in their heads.

"Yes, it's possible. Although I won't tell you the details about it."

Hmm... Now that I think about it, this points system is somewhat similar to another system implemented in a certain East Asian country. It's called the Social Credit System if I'm not mistaken.

"Will the penalties we got for breaking the school rules stay?"

"Most of the penalties incurred would nullify after a month. There are some cases where the penalty last more than a month, this is usually reserved for more major rules being broken. For example, The penalty of Yamauchi's case for perpetuating the attempt to peep into the girls while changing lasts for three months."

She's rubbing salt into the wound.

"If there are no more questions, We will talk about the Mid Exams."

During my one-week stay before school begins. Matsuo had explained to me how Japanese society works.

Just like any other school in Japan, looks like our school implemented a three-semester system. That means each year we would have a mid and a final exam for each semester totaling an amount of 6 exams a year.

As for our Mid Exams, there's nothing really special about the subjects. There will be five subjects and each subject will be graded according to the grading system (Look at chapter 1.2). The final score would be the average of all five subjects.
