11:52 - Day 1
I and my group had been walking towards the northeast for the last few minutes. We had decided that finding a good spot to place our beacon down was our first priority. I suggested our team go in that direction because there was a lake in the middle of the plains and several rivers that led to it. But that was not the only reason, for I had to do something.
And that was watching over Horikita Suzune
Back during the Mid-Exams, I promised Manabu to guide her sister so that she could take care of a certain second-year student council member in exchange for getting the current second-year's Mid-Exams question. A few moments ago, I saw Horikita and her group heading toward the direction of the lake.
Our group was trailing behind her.
It seems that Horikita's group decided to go all out, I could see Sudou with a heavy backpack behind him. The heavy backpack was the only backpack capable of storing the beacon so I guess he was assigned the role of the 'Mule' of the group. The rest of Horikita's group was wearing medium backpacks.
In my own group, we couldn't put the beacon in our group so Shibata was carrying it, from the looks of it, the beacon was quite heavy because Shibata had to use both of his hands.
He wasn't the only one that got it off hard though. Everyone in the entire group was basically carrying about 20kg (44lbs) of weight thanks to the items we bought earlier.
12:23 - Day 1
It had almost been an hour since we started the exam, progress had been slow since we were traveling heavy and the forest we have to traverse. A few moments later and the forest had finally cleared showing us an open plain with a sizeable lake in the middle of it. I had been noticing that Matsushita was heavily panting like she was about to collapse. Everyone else was also exhausted so they didn't notice her.
After we arrived on the banks of the lake, Shibata placed down the beacon.
'Overlapping Claims'
"Dammit! Looks like someone else had already claimed the spot first!" Shouted Ishizaki.
"Look, over there!"
Amikura pointed towards the direction where some tents could be seen. Looks like Horikita's team had already camped there.
"I guess we have to set up a little bit more to the north." Said Shibata
"Quick, let's not waste any more time." Replied Totsuka.
20 minutes later.
We had arrived near a river located a little bit north of the lake, Shibata was about to place the beacon down when I stopped him from doing so.
"Shibata, I think we should place the beacon on a more concealed spot."
"I think that's a good idea, Ayanokouji-Kun."
He then placed the beacon near a tree and the beacon's arms punched through the ground. It looked like the area was free to be claimed. We proceeded to scan the QR code and the display showed 'Claimed by Group 9' under it was an 8-hour timer.
"Let's take a rest for a few minutes."
Everyone sat down and drank some water. After a few moments, Shibata spoke up:
"There's only about 10 minutes left before the first events start popping out. I think it's a good idea to split our team."
"Ayanokouji-Kun, take Matsushita-San and go to the north. Totsuka-Kun, Kamuro-San, you go to the south. The rest of us will stay here to put up camp." Added Shibata
