Day 5: something you would change about the world
One day, years ago, I’d stared at a figurine on my desk: two bears dressed in common clothes, holding a heart. Then, I asked myself: why must they portray things like this? I was younger that time, I know, but I had read enough to be able to say that bears aren’t tame creatures. Yet, there they were, depicted as if I could hug them when I see them.
Funneh. So ba’t ko kinwento yun? Share ko lang?
Okay, halata namang hindi. What I’m saying is that the world is irrational. There are things which appear to be good even if they are not. There are foes masquerading as friends. There are stories with only uncertainty in the end. There are lies. Deceit. Corruption of minds, of hearts. There are crimes committed for no valid reason, only for the sake of committing a crime. There are wars, spurred by only the most trivial of things.
If I could change something about the world, I’d remove all its irrationalities.
Asdfasdfghsdjkfagdf. Maraming salamat po.
