Day 30: 5 favorite girls names, 5 favorite boys names

Girls

1.       Andrea. Of course I like my name. But I don’t like it just because it’s mine. It means “courageous, valiant, a warrior”. That’s what I want to be, too.

2.       Mathilde – A name I have given to one of my characters. It means “mighty battle maiden”, and is Germanic in origin.

3.       Hildegarde – Another character’s name. It means “guardian battle maiden”, and is also Germanic in origin.

4.       Psalm – a friend’s name. We were very close while in elementary. It’s a gentle name, as calm and serene as the owner.

5.       Ariadne – I used this as a character’s name too. It’s Greek in origin, and I think it really unique. But I don’t really know how to read it.

Boys

1.       Johan, Johann, or however it’s spelt – It’s cute. And I don’t hear or see this name often. I used it in one of my stories.

2.       Sherlock – Hahahaha. I like him. So it’s only natural for me to like his name too.

3.       Arthur – as in “Arthur Conan Doyle”. He made Sherlock, that’s why. And it has that regal ring to it.

4.       John – That’s Watson’s first name, and he’s Sherlock Holmes ‘biographer’. It’s a fairly common name. I like it, though. It sounds masculine.

5.       Diether – Another character’s name. It’s so unique (it sported a red underline when I typed it on MS Word). It was suggested by a classmate, and I’d instantly liked it.

These are just my favorite names. There are many other names which I like.

Basta. Kung gusto kita, gusto ko rin ang pangalan mo.
