It wasn't long before word of Katpiss's pregnancy traveled.

While people in the Capitol and Career districts rejoiced about the news, many were unhappy. Most of the districts yearned for rebellion and Katpiss was the catalyst. She had bent the rules of the Funger Games and made the Capitol her bitch.

Chiefly among the unhappy, there was President Hoe. President Hoe looked out the window of his mansion in contempt. "Bring Katpiss in," he called to his butler. Across the grandiose room, a door opened and Katpiss walked in.

"Hello President Hoe."

"Thank you for meeting me Katpiss. I've been dying to talk to you about...pressing matters."

"It—it's a pleasure to be in your company."

"Hmm, you see your stunt in the Games was construed among the districts as an act of defiance. They are responding and they want to overthrow us."

"Fragile system is it?"

"Yes...maybe. I advised Haybitch to train you and your husbands so that you appeared to be in love. The stupid, treasonous actions you pulled at the game were out of love, not defiance. Well...people in most of the districts haven't bought it even though from the looks of it you didn't even have to act."

"I—I don't know what to say."

"Then I heard about the pregnancy," Hoe said before Katpiss could turn away. "Puta and Cumtoe are very beautiful, although quite frankly Jail was more my type. Nonetheless, this makes what I'm about to say very difficult."

"I'm sorry?"

"Katpiss, I'm sending you back into the Games with all the other Victors. Panem cannot face a rebellion and the best way to suppress it is to squash it at its source. You."
